Description

Street Parking Avenida Menendez by the water. Street Parking in the old town is free from 5 pm to 8 am. We parked our Sprinter with bike rack and had no problem for the night. Best option is the water side of Avenida Menendez (leave the other side for B&B guests and residents (marked parking).
Best for Class Bs that fit in a standard parking spot but some slightly larger rigs might fit if there is room. There will be people walking the boardwalk, often with dogs; a few cars and the clip-clop of horse-drawn carriages until about 10 pm. After that it is very quiet.
This is a gem. Leave it as good as or better than you found it so that small RV parking continues. Be out by 8 am or parking must be paid thereafter.

Spent one night parked south of the bridge in front of homes. Quiet, no issues, no knock! Nice view, and beautiful sunrise. Free parking is now 9pm to 8am, not 5pm. 5 minute drive to/from free RV day parking.

Report Check-In

the police warned us that in all streets it is forbidden to camp even if you can park for free. we had to change places. it's a city regulation

Report Check-In

Stayed 1 night, no knock. Area wasn’t too busy after 10pm, plenty of parking. Parked in front of hotels/motels. Great location near historic district and water.

Thanks to those who recommended this place. I woke up at 7:00 am with a beautiful view of the water. It was quiet and free. I felt safe there.

I parked there in march 2023 for 5 days. No problmem at that moment, but I noticed there was 3 or 4 compers every night so it was obviously going to change as Forida seems to adhere to a ''no boondocking'' policy right now. Had a white van, very ''stealth'' so maybe that'd help nowadays.

Tried to stay out by the beach but got the dreaded knock. This spot was nice and scenic and not too loud, but it is along a tour route come morning. I’d recommend it if you like a view & you’re trying to stay in St. Augustine—it’s probably one of the only ones you’ll get away with it. Nothing bigger than a 22ft vehicle will fit, btw. Take your RV elsewhere.

I stayed here arriving about six p.m. and leaving at 7:30 a.m. I was not bothered and it was quiet for the most part. It was fun to wake up and walk around the pretty town without the crowds. The restrooms at the marina were open at 6 a.m. and, I suspect, all night.

Report Check-In

Stayed 2 nights, but got the knock on night 2 because there were so many vans and RVs parked along the road. The policemen were friendly to let us stay the night and mentioned that the residents were complaining (the parking is just south of the historic town so you are pretty much parked in front of peoples houses). Great spot near town and by the water though, just be mindful if there are ‘too many’ similar vehicules parked…we opted for planet fitness on night 3.

Stayed 1 Night , No Issues , Was Nice seeing the Christmas Lights. Nice Boardwalk

While the area has the same parking regulations, the best place to park is on the water side of Avenida Menendez beside the Matanzas River as some of the other streets are very narrow, and this one is easy to get in and out of parking spaces.
As best I can determine, the reason for allowing overnight parking is to provide parking for guests in the rows of guest houses in the old town who have none. It just happens to help RVs as well. Best for Class Bs that fit in a standard parking spot but some largert ones could take up two. Tonight there were about 5 Class Bs parked. There will be people walking the boardwalk, a few cars and the clip clop of horse-drawn carriages until about 10 pm. After that it is very quiet. This is a gem. Leave it as good as or better than you found it so that small RV parking continues. Be out by 8 am or park must be paid thereafter.

Great place next to a water! Stayed for 1 night after 4th of July fireworks, there were other bigger Sprinter staying there as well.

Report Check-In

Great place to park and sleep overnight, lots of open spaces next to the water. The residential side of the street said “reserved” but the water side did not. Was very quiet and safe.

Report Check-In

Parked right along the water on Menedez st for 2 nights. Parking is free from 5pm to 8am each day and free all times on Sundays. During the days we stayed in the parking lot for RVs (about a 3 minute drive away) instead of paying to park

Report Check-In

Parked on a side road, got quieter as the night went on. I was on Marine St and did hear horses gallop from the tours. Excellent spot.

Perfect 1 night stay in a class B on the waterfront. There was a line of vans and a bus. No problems, nobody came by. Sunrise was awesome!

Report Check-In

Very much as others have described, a little noisy but issue free. Please note that you must be parked in the direction of traffic! Idk why but apparently you get a ticket if you don't.

Stayed here two nights ago. Got there at 5 pm and went into town for dinner came back and went to sleep. No one bothered us. We were gone before 8 am.

This isn’t street parking this is a lot specifically for parking Your RV or oversize vehicle. It is free! And quite a relief to find considering a pro master van obviously couldn’t park on the street anywhere in st Augustine and it was so busy there was no parking anyway. If you want to stay the night there’s a $35 charge. But the day parking is free! We left our van here and felt very safe.

Report Check-In

Free parking after 5pm. I stayed here Saturday night and there’s free parking on Sundays, so I was able to stay and relax in the morning. There are public bathrooms in the marina/boat house, but I’m not sure of the hours. Everyone I saw was very friendly.

Report Check-In

Lots of free night time parking on the waterfront.

Said at this waterfront spot in downtown Saint Augustine for three nights didn’t have any problems and didn’t get ticketed after 8 AM. Honestly one of my favorite spot so far and public restrooms are located at the Square and a great place to walk the dog

Report Check-In

Good parking to the east of this pin, along the waterfront (south of the Bridge of Lions). Same pay-to-park scenario as the rest of old town. Some street noise is to be expected, but the sunrise is worth it.

Report Check-In

Waking up waterside with no hassles really nice!
Parking (other than Cathedral Place) meters start at 8am though we did not see anyone ticketing at all. We plugged our meter just in case and then sat for awhile unpaid until we took a walk into town which is quite beautiful and historic, though mega touristy.

Report Check-In

Just like others posted: free parking from 5pm-8am with some spots till 10am as posted. We did one night on the malecon and had an incredible sunrise over the harbor. We’re as lucky to find a spot there the next night, but found a fairly quiet street to the west of the college. We barely fit in our truck camper. It was very busy in St. Augustine when we were there: Christmas week

Report Check-In

Stayed the night near here without issue. We saw at least two other sprinter vans doing the same. The parking along the waterfront is free from 5 PM-8 AM and $2.50 per hour during metered times, but if you turn onto Cathedral Place towards the majority of Old Town attractions then you can get an extra two hours to sleep in because paid parking doesn't start until 10 AM.

Report Check-In

Street Parking in the old town is free from 5 pm to 8 am. We parked our Sprinter with bike rack and had no problem for the night. Look around and find a spot (even by the water) for the night.
