Latest Check-Ins

Stayed here 2 nights — arrived at 8pm left at 6am each time. Only one other van at the other pull-off. No cops or knocks (thank goodness). Little noise from the highway, but otherwise really quiet, especially since I stayed over July 4th weekend! Highly recommend.

Report Check-In

A ranger did stop by and say that there was no camping allowed on these forest roads or trails.

The pull in areas along the road look like the “designated spots” that the entrance signs are talking about but they are not. They are pointing you to the Eastern Campground at Point Washington

Report Check-In

We stayed two night with no problem but the second morning about 9:30 a volunteer state forest man stopped and told us we cannot be there or any other place in Point Washington State Forest (there are several on iOverlander). He said a Forest Ranger would be coming by in an hour or so and we should leave immediately because that ranger WOULD fine us. We left!

Report Check-In

Ok for a night. Note that as you drive into the park, there is a sign saying "NO CAMPING except in designated areas". I pulled in around 630pm and this spot was occupied so I found another pullout a bit farther down the road. No one drove by all night until the next morning. No knocks. Nice forest.

Report Check-In

I entered from 395 and found one good spot. Road is sand with gravel. Good Verizon service. Road noise, otherwise a great spot.

Report Check-In

Great little spot, close enough to the highway to be a short detour but still feels remote thanks to the woods. Parked in a pullout right off the dirt road, only saw three vehicles pass all night.

Report Check-In

Hard to find at night but came across 395 and then I saw the forest sign a few minutes later. Turned in and drove down a bit but there were a lot of pot holes. About 10 minutes later a truck came from the back area... then a few minutes later a cop came. He was nice; I asked if I could camp for the night he said, it’s fine. Not too long after I saw the same truck come back into the forest and passed me. When I left around 630/7 am I saw a cop sitting about 200 ft from the entrance. Sand was soft where I parked. Please remember pack it in, pack it out. I saw some beer cans and other trash left behind but clean and quiet otherwise. On a clear night you can see the stars flicker all night. I even caught a shooting star. Would stay here again.

Report Check-In

Not gated, quiet area. We drove in only about 1 block or so through shallow mud puddles due to recent rain. Tree clearance was fine above and to the sides. We found a wide area at a fork in this sandy road with our 26 ft. rv. A couple of jeeps passed by but no problems. Great hiking and bike trails in this area.

Report Check-In

Most roads in the forest are blocked and posted as restricted to vehicles.
Parked on road that appeared to be infrequently used and wasn’t bothered. Though there are no signs the website indicates that a day use fee is required and access is limited dawn to dusk.

Report Check-In

ok for one night. several pull outs to choose from. couple of cars drove by just before sundown but was quiet the rest of the night. forest ranger drove by in the morning. I waved but he just stared at me so idk what that means.

note: the star rating feature on the app isnt working for me. I'd give it 4 out of 5

Report Check-In

Very quiet spot in the forest, with only a few passing cars here and there. I actually chose a pull off just a little further down the road, as it offered a little more shade. They've recently done a proscribed burn in the area, but the plants are starting to rebound. There were a lot of empty, half melted cans in the area which I picked up. Pack in, pack out. I spent two nights here with no problems. Good cell coverage.

Report Check-In

Public entrance Washington Forest. Dirt road. No service. Quiet. Good for one night. Network LTE available.
