The resort (or private residences, not sure what it was) seems to be finished. Now there is a gate in front. We opened the gate and walked up the property, but we did not bother to ask to stay for camping, as this is clearly not meant as camping ground. Anyway, it indeed is a nice place, still with plenty of space to camp. So if you feel like, give it a shot.
Report Check-InLovely spot by the river. No facilities. This is someone's private land so it's important to find them first and ask permission to camp. They don't ask for money, just a polite permission required!
Report Check-InBest spot on the island, though you'll need to navigate 18kms of potholes to get here from the mainland bridge. We asked permission from a local & he had no problem with us setting up camp or taking some non potable water. Every day fishermen come to lay nets & the school kids came to chill out or bathe; we took our bicycles to tour the island. Lots of water buffalo!
