Something not right?

Description

If you take the dirt road off 180 it will skirt the River. Tons of trash up on the ridge. Keep driving, there is a flat spot to the right of the road next to some flat ricks and a ravine. Pretty quiet but close to town. Go out the way you came in as the gap between roads going out is too large to exit without chancing damage, if you continue on the road instead of turning around. Good cell service.

It’s an okay spot. Washboard roads but pretty easy to get to. Lots of glass, but pretty imbedded in the desert. Quite and secluded. Pretty sad about all the trash tho.

Beautiful open space. Smooth road coming in off 180. Some areas are cluttered with trash but we chose a clean area. Just a few minutes from Petrified Forest. Beautiful sunset. Stars were awesome.

Great, secluded spot. Quiet and peaceful. There are many dirt roads leading back to old woodruff roads for vehicles of any size.

Little rough getting but if you don't go all the way in you'll be fine. A ton of truck activity at night between locals throwing out garbage up on the ridge to drunk kids partying and getting their trucks stuck. a lot of broken glass

Great spot! Full bars on T-Mobile, pretty scenery and secluded from freeway noise and people. Conveniently right outside of Holbrook too.

Down Old Woodruff Rd., will be on your left if coming from Holbrook. And like 7 minutes from Petrified Forest National Park. There are a lot of different spots down this road just watch out at night though because some spots look like you can pull in easy but they have big ditches and would be more for off-road vehicles however I ended up in one of these spots in a sprinter and while it was a tad scary to get out I managed. On your left however about a mile down the road there is a large spot for multiple rigs that is completely flat but has some trash. There are no amenities but the sunset here is gorgeous and is only 10 minutes from the small town of Holbrook

Turn down Woodruff Rd off 180.
There is a pull off right at the entrance to Woodruff for larger vehicles. I took the 2nd right which connects you immediately to the currently unnavigable, first right. This is an unmaintained trail. I had no problem traversing it with a Ford Transit, but vehicles with large overhangs behind the rear wheels or longer than 20’ will have problems in its current condition.
Stay to the left at the fork and it brings you up on the ridge. Beautiful sunset and sunrise - just look past all the trash up there. Truly sad to see since a beautiful spit being used as a dump. We’re not talking campers leaving trash, but people disposing of appliances, furniture, lots of shotgun shells and broken beer bottles. Maybe one day some locals could organize a clean up up there.

I camped high on the bluff without any issues and enjoyed the sunset and sunrise. Would be 5 stars if not for garbage

we stayed just off the road. We couldn't tell if this was state/blm land or what... so we were nervous thorough the night. low temp was 18 degrees... so our wood burning stove in the van came to good use. In the end we had no trouble and no one was around for miles.

Report Check-In

Quiet boondocking range. Right off 180 outside of Holbrooke, AZ.

decent place - nice enough with good views. def needed our high clearance rig to get off the gravel road, but peaceful
lots of glass on the ground, but viable if you’re careful

Report Check-In

This place is full of garbage and no other campers. Probably would have been fine for one night, but we decided to keep driving.
