Nice free place on grass. Very safe. Pet friendly but they have a guard dog at night.
On weekends there are often events so a lot of music.

We stayed there 3 nights and really enjoyed at. We were at the top of the cliff that dominates the property on a grassy land. Owner and staff were amazingly kind. There is a cold pool, WC, child playground and WiFi, all free ! The only thing you have to do is to register at the reception.

And there is also an helicopter landing site, should you need one 😉

We spent 1 night here while passing through Guatemala City. Even though the restaurant was closed for a few weeks, the guard gave us a friendly welcome and we were allowed to stay here for free!
All we had to do was register at the reception of the hotel, where we even got the WiFi password.
Very safe and super quiet for its proximity to Guatemala City!

Report Check-In

We stayed here for 2 nights. We had coffee and some pastries when we arrived Sunday and breakfast on the day we left (the restaurant is closed on Mondays) and otherwise did not have to pay for our stay.
As described by others it’s next to a main road into the city so it’s quite noisy but nothing earplugs can’t handle. We went into the city twice with uber which worked well but it took us close to an hour each way because of the traffic. So if you plan to visit the city center more often and more thoroughly this might be a bit too far outside. But otherwise it makes for a nice camp and rest spot. Note: We were coming from Antigua and had to take a u-turn a little further down the road - driving back up enter the driveway with the sign (there’s another gate before, but that’s closed).

Perfect place for a night. We enjoyed the swiss food, Rösti and Bratwurst are not better in Switzerland!

Report Check-In

We arrived Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closing down at 16.00h because of Covid (Monday it's closed as well). We neither got wifi (need guest registration, but office was closed) nor electricity (policy does not allowed it). No bathroom or shower either, but the big Bernhardiner dog is friendly.

Report Check-In

Great spot! Nice and clean and free. We couldn’t eat at the restaurant because there was too much people but wasn’t a problem. Dogs are not allowed at the restaurant but they are at the parking, and there is a lot of space for them to run and have fun. They have a huge dog but is free only during the night, from 10 pm to 5 am and is not very dog friendly so you might want to put your dog inside at that hour.

We arrived a bit late (around 7.30pm), the guardian opened up the gate for us and we could park in the field for free. We could use his bathroom and fill up our water tank easily (many exterior faucets. In the morning we had a great swiss pie, delicious but not cheap. Highly recommend the spot for a night !

Report Check-In

Nice place to stay one night. The guard asked us if we were going to eat there, it sound like if we didn't really have the choice. Food is great but you don't have to be hungry (no German portions😉) and they didn't let us a password for the WiFi. Cold showers are available.

great free spot before or after visiting Guatemala city. you are supposed to register at the hotel reception. safe, there is a house for police men just for the hotel. great view

A very nice place for camping. Free. Splendid view at night. No showers. Safe. I felt it was fair to have breakfast there .
I had continental breakfast- poor.Toasted bread, hard butter, juice was not pure juice, coffee weak( but they gave me a small cup of strong coffee when reminded of my order)
Perhaps the wrong time of day (7am)

Nice place, friendly helpful owners, food is muy rico. Overnight parking is free with bathroom and shower.

No vehicle storage is allowed. Driver must camp with their rig.

Great spot before hitting the city

Great Place - stayed two nights for free! Great european food! friendly staff! super save!

Report Check-In

What a great place. Very welcoming people. Large grassy area with nice views, but not many level spots. No charge for parking up but it's only fair to eat something in the restaurant. Food there is good, not the cheapest, but worth the price. To get into Guate City, a German couple camped with us used a local taxi and paid Q175!!! We used. Uber and paid Q70.

Great place to spend a night. Very secure parking and can acommodate most vehicles. Hotel room was about $50 USD. Clean room. Hot shower. Friendly owners. Restaurant is excellent too.

Report Check-In

Secure place, good for a night. Friendly people. If you want to go for the full European experience, eat in the restaurant (the music was a bit misplaced though... ;-) )

What a lovely couple. We spent there one night with an amazing view over Guatemala City. The spot is free and secure. Try some of the dishes in the restaurant (german & swiss traditional food).

We stopped here twice. The food is so delicious and the people are very friendly. Highly recommend this place.

We liked the „Rösti“ for breakfast! The owners welcome overlander to overnight for free. The view to Guatemala City is great. When we were there also a wedding took place and the parking lot and gras field was crowded. Big party until 3 in the morning but no problem to sleep.

Report Check-In

As described previously. A nice and welcoming place. A bit noisy from the nearby highway but no problem

Sitio hermoso y muy buena gente! El desayuno es buenissimo. Vista muy bonita de ciudad guatemala.

Report Check-In

This is an excellent location just outside of guatemala city. They have security guards on the premise. Free Wifi (if you are close enough to the reception or if you have an repeater).
They do not charge you, you are supposed to eat in thei restaurant. This however is a bit pricey.

Report Check-In

great place to be! The Bratwurst, Engadiner Nusstorte or the Schwarzwäldertorte and the Rösti was just delicious!!!! the campplace is a huge grasy field. the toiletts we used at night were ok. the owner came especial to our table to welcome us. everyone very friendly.

Report Check-In

Very nice place to camp, close to Guatemala City. Somehow bigger and busier (in the restaurant) than we expected but everyone was very nice. It is like a small Swiss "alm" in the middle of Guatemala. You park on a big meadow with an amazing view over Guatemala City. Bathrooms were ok, we used the ones of the guards in the night and the very nice ones from the restaurant during the day. We also used the shower of the guards in the morning. Good place for washing dishes and potable water available. The breakfast at the restaurant was delicious. A breakfast combo is 78 or 88 Q, side dishes around 20-30 Q. Apart from that the stay is free.

We came from the east and the hotel is marked well. Grassy area for parking tho not all level. Owner and staff very friendly. While you can hear traffic at night it's nothing earplugs cannot block out. Tigo reception so so. Nice bathrooms to use with seats & TP. We wanted to go into the city and owner called us a yellow taxi. Had a lovely meal in cafe. No Wi-Fi in cafe itself but reception has and will give password, you can sit at benches along the wall facing pool.

Report Check-In

Absolutely amazing place! And supersweet, very welcoming people! Actually it's a hotel with a restaurant, but they have lots of space, a huge grassy area, and they seem very happy to host overlanders! They don't charge for camping. And they even opened an extra (supernice!!) bathroom for us, open all night. Unbelievable hospitality!!

Report Check-In

Very special Place.Grassy Lot on a big field, right to a sports school, were the pupils play from 8.00 am on, you look on two helicopter landing spots (the swiss cruces Platform) We arrived late in the dark, you have to hit the entrance on the meterspot, getting away from the 4 lane highway, you stop direct in front the heavy closed gate. Just ring, the (armed) Guard will open you. Explaining took a little time, but then he shows us very friendly the Campspot.
Unfortanatly the Highway is direct nearby, and yes, the trucks use the retarder breaks!
The nightlook to parts of the City is breathtaking!
Even it was late, one of the Swiss Owners opened us the toiletroom and give us a warm welcome!
We slept well and good secured near Guatemala City in our Camper!!! Never thought doing this!
The breakfast in the Cafe next morning was worth every quetzal ! The best we had have since weeks. And the ambience is really first class and swiss like.
In the Cafe is no Wifi connection possible.
Overall an experience we don't wanted to miss. Do not arrive in the dark.
Many thanks to the Owner. Such places make Overlanding so unique !!!!
5 Stars not for the features , but for unique of the place!

This place can be recommended to every Overlander as it is safe, has extremly helpful staff, has clean toilets, good restaurant, water, is free when eating in Restaurant and is calm at night. We spent 3 nights.

What delicious food! We're swiss and we didn't ate swiss food for about 9months! Here we had Laugenbretzel and Bratwurst (swiss saussage) with potatosalad,so good! This place was builded by the grandfather of the owners, one of the "jefas" showed us the whole place and told us about the history of this swiss cabaña! her sister is the pastry chef, she made her apprenticeship in a pastry in switzerland! all the bread and the pastry is homemade and the veggies are from their own garden! very friendly people and so generous, that overlanders can stay here for free!
