I've spent about 6 total nights in the National Park. You are supposed to pay $10/NT for a Backcountry site (Ludicrous) considering with a NPS Park pass a campground in the park is only $8/NT. 3 Nights I just boondocked 5 min down "Primative" Roads with no problems. The night I did pay for a "Backcountry" permit they gave me a site 45 min off a paved road. Even in an extremely capable 2023 4x4 4Runner I feared my rig was going to break and just camped close to the paved road anyway.
Report Check-InSheriff arrived and said no overnight. They are putting up signs soon. The picnic area across from the gas station is good to go
Report Check-InStayed here two nights and worked out great! Perfect location. Beautiful sunrise and sunset. Both nights there were two others parked with me. It’s suuupppeerrr dark and night so when you’re driving on the road you can’t even see where people are parked. I felt a little sketched out by it because of the location but it worked great and I would park there again. No service for t-mobile. Just that 3G USA whatever you get in the park which doesn’t really do anything. There is a pit toilet right at the entrance to the park just up the road.
Report Check-InWas kicked out by sheriff at 9:30. He said it was private property, not to stay heee.
Report Check-InThis spot worked perfectly for us. Another van and a camper were here as well. No issues. Quiet night. Easy access to the park the next morning before it got crowded. Highly recommend!
Report Check-InStayed here one night no problem. Second night we were told by a ranger that we could. It camp here. They recommended the picnic area down the road next to the gas station.
Report Check-Insimple and basic. can fit a few vehicles. nothing special, but the location to big bend. worth it.
Report Check-InHuge gravel quarry between the road and the National Park boundary. Place for several, even big, rigs. A few hundred meters before the National Park entrance. Quiet at night, visible from the road.
