Something not right?

Description

10. January 2020. Place looks completely deserted. Roads in increasingly bad state. Do NOT enter from South access road!

******
Now they charge!!

Small beautiful, but now unmaintained campsite off the road and next to the lake. Access roads is steep and partly washed out, take care with low clearance and 2wd. Beautiful isolated sites next to the lake and screened from each other by trees. Each site has a covered cooking/sitting area, a BBQ. Apparently unmaintained, so no facilities, but free.

Amazing place for cyclists. Highly recommended!

I don’t think it’s possible to enter by car though.

Report Check-In

Cerrado permanentemente. No se puede ingresar en auto por ninguna de las 3 entradas.

Report Check-In

we get in there quiet late and it was completely empty, it's so nice but seems to be closed for a long time. toilets are locked.
some of the camping spots are very well and others have long grass but still good. it's a shame that the are not using it.
we get in there with the bikes from a 2nd entrance at the left when you pass the main one. I recommend if you are around because there is nothing else, in 200 m is the entrance to angostura trail where it's a ranger in the house. I think they don't check it. the trail you have to book and belong to Queulat as well

Report Check-In

Roads in increasingly bad state. Do NOT use access road from the South!

Report Check-In

Didn’t stay here. Ranger came and wanted 8000 pp for national park fee and 6000 pn for camping here.

No showers or toilets!!!

Report Check-In

Mal lugar para detenerse valor de 6000 y en muy mal estado no recomendable.

Report Check-In

pleasant campground
Private sites flat areas for tents and cars
no water lake source only
all Taps turned off
no charge
covered tables and fire pits

Report Check-In

Very nice place indeed. With 2wd it's a bit tricky, but doable. It seems that there are three paths from the main road. The middle one to enter, then down at the lake you can go either left or right, both ways lead back to the main road. The turn to the right was tricky for our little van. Place doesn't seem to be maintained. The toilets look like they are never used/cleaned.

Report Check-In

very good place to camp with grill places, shelters to sit on the sites. good for fishing. Also garbage pots. Nobody came to ask for money. We stayed there for two nights. Very popular with locals too

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot by the lake but very wet if you had some rain during the day. Camping is open all year but you have to PAY for it during High season: November - March. You need to look for the park ranger 200 m from the entrance or he will show up as it happened with us. PRICE: 6000 CLP a day for the whole spot, running water but better let it flow for a while and cold showers. Starting point for two hikes.

Report Check-In

Pefect place, not maintained. With running wather

Report Check-In

It's a good place halfway between Pumallin and Puerto Aysén. In October it seems the place is NOT maintained and the water is turned off but the place is OPEN.
We drove down the "salida", because it was not so heavily washed out as the entrance. It's quite muddy, but the place at the lake is dry and cosy.

Report Check-In

Small shelter and table quiet place, i haven't see the guard so its was free 😀

Report Check-In

This campground is definitely maintained. Sites were clean, some with trash bins and bags that are collected regularly. Some sites, like #7 where we stayed, were missing handles for the water spigot, but you can easily walk to another spot to get water. Bathrooms were clean and trash removed frequently. Each had 2 toilets, 2 sinks, and a shower--everything worked.

We arrived around 4, left the motos parked, and walked around. There was no one else. We spent the night, heard a truck go by in the morning, but no one came to ask for money. It was a beautiful spot, and though it would have cost a lot, we decided after walking around, that we would happily pay when the ranger came by. I think he didn't stop because it was raining on and off in the morning.

Report Check-In

6000 a night, a ranger Will come to collect the money. There is water at all the sites and the toilets are clean. You can also take a cold shower.

Report Check-In

The campground is definitely not maintained any more. One of the three access roads was completely washed out, so be very careful if you are driving down there with 2wd (it's possible, but adventurous). No running water, toilets full and not working, 6 sites still accessible. That also means NO amenities, but FREE.

The whole thing has a certain flair. It's a rainforest typical for the area, everything smells like moss. We stayed the night without any problems.

Report Check-In

Well, we stoped around 8pm. The ranger appeared right away and asked 6.000 for the camping spot and 5.000 each as an entrance for the park (that we were not planning to go). We didn’t stay.

Report Check-In

Great spot, all alone by the riverside. Only downside is that the roads inside are a bit unmaintained, recommend 4x4 or motorcycle to get through - you can definitely manage with 2wd it would just be tough in some areas.
Running water at the campsite and in the bathroom, cold showers, trash cans at campsite with bags. Overall very good condition for being seemingly abandoned.

Report Check-In

Nice spot, unfortunately not easily accessible for big rigs. We broke a few things to say the least....

Report Check-In

Quite place for the night - toilets and showers available.
We haven't see any rangers, so it was free ;-)

Report Check-In

Everything you expected from a camping but free. Clean toilets, fire pit, shelter, bridge for fishing, We had salmon and trouts. Quiet. Even shower but cold.

Report Check-In

Nice spot to have a lunch, can imagine stay overnight. Water doesnt work, fire pits and shalters still ok to use. Bit muddy but nice.

Report Check-In

Nice, private sites. No water coming from our site tap when we were there. With the recent heavy rain the sites are quite muddy and gravel road is washed out in places and may be difficult in 2wd. Didn't see the ranger in the morning.

Report Check-In

the campsite doesn't seem to be maintained anymore. we stayed there for a night with no problems whatsoever. we met a couple of other people but the campsite was largely empty. no one came to collect any money. the toilets didn't work and there's no running water anymore. the only facilities left are roofed tables and benches. has a lovely viewpoint over the lake though.

Report Check-In

Quite muddy when it rains! Nobody came to collect in the morning. Campsites look a bit rundown but toilets where relatively clean!

Report Check-In

very Nice Hidden place. we have just used the table and benches to eat lunch.

Report Check-In

Small beautiful campsite off the road and next to the lake. Only 16 sites and only 5 of them are for vehicles. Smaller rigs only as the access road is quite tight. Beautiful isolated sites next to the lake and screened from each other by trees. Each site has a covered cooking/sitting area, a BBQ and tap with potable water. Apparently the park ranger comes around to collect money at 9am and charges CHP6000 per site. Showers are hot but temperamental, one evening luke warm then the next morning boiling for 3 minutes then freezing cold. A beautiful place to spend the night and the facilities are good for the price.
