DONT FOLLOW GOOGLE MAPS
there seems to be two access roads
1) follow google maps up away from 31A until you get to a 5 way intersection. stop and read the sign hidden in the bushes (see photo) to pick the right road to continue
2)dont follow google maps at all and keep driving on the 31A until you actually see signs to the 'Buchanan Lookout' on the aide of the road.
we didnt go up any of these as we had spent the night on a side forestry road, but that is what we could analyse the next morning.
Report Check-Inwe couldnt make it all the way up even though
we were in a 4x4 truck. the path is very grown over and there is big drainage rutts. made it just about to the last two kms up.
there is still some pull outs on the way to sleep, but the views are limited.
Most spectacular views in all directions, we'll worth a drive up here even if you don't stay the night. Space is limited for camping, but there are a few spots. Picnic tables, fire rings and a pit toilet. Steep and rough track to get here, ideally high clearance 4x4 vehicles. Free.
Report Check-InIncredible view. The road is really especially the final 2km. No rvs or low cleanse vehicles. Outhouse and amazing view
