Description

Easy accessible, nice, small campspot with firepit at a meadow with evergreen trees. Good for Sprinter sized vehicles, not much bigger. One mile from Laramie Peak Trailhead. There is the Friend Park Campground as well, dont know how much it costs. Camping prohibited 1/4 mile around campground and at the parking lot. Forest Ranger told us that it gets crowded on weekends, with about 25 cars. On Sunday there were 10 cars, during the week no one. About one car / ATV passes by at the small track, near the campspot all others take the main road from which you might be seen. Next to the campspot there are a few other spots with firepits, but there are not many other possibilities to camp in the area because it's mainly private property. At the Roaring Fork Camp/Trailead (no campground) there are some campspots with firepits too.

Latest Check-Ins

not to many people here elk hunters. I think the camping at the Friends campground is free off season the pit toilet was available but nor trash pack in pack out. I decided to go to find a protected area down the hill from the wind. free any time of the year. National forest disperse camping. Note: lots of private land be sure to watch for no trespassing signs. state trust land may also say no camping in some areas.

Awesome spot, nobody else here or at the campground on a Sunday. Nobody on Laramie either. Campground appears to have pit toilets, water and dumpsters, says $10/ night.

I got my 21ft skoolie in here without issue but I took one of the first spots and did not drive back to far.
