The iOverlander spots below here weren't great so we continued a short distance up hill to find a much nicer, remote spot with a nice view down the valley and a good mobile phone signal. Heading uphill on Robins Range Road, go 500m past the iOverlander post for 'Boondock by two forestry roads' then turn left up the rough dirt trail. MUST HAVE 4x4 HIGH CLEARANCE for the last 500m up this side trail which is loose dirt and deeply rutted.

I checked this place out, when I got over the very difficult terrain on my dualsport motorcycle, I found a dust pit the free-ranging cattle had been rolling in, strewn with blackened stumps and cowpies. I couldn't find anything remotely workable for even my smack tent. I've no problem with free-ranging cattle but at this spot it was a hard pass for me.
