Near Nordegg | Wild Camping

Just a heads up. All wild camping sites on this side of the mountains require a crown land camping pass, $30 for one year useable at any of the sites. This includes all of the free sites shown on iOverlander. We talked to a fish and game guy and he said the fine is $185, sounds like they give one warning then fine you if they catch you again. Please leave the sites clean, this permit is because of people leaving garbage all over including food that bears got into. A ton of Nice sites down this road.

pretty decent place, a few firepits about, just a few minutes off the highway along a gravel road, a few big holes in the parking lot, just drive careful

This is a seriously muddy spot with deep tyre tracks in the dirt. We didn't stay, and when we drove back past the spot next morning, after some rain in the night, we are glad that we didn't stay!! We continued just 250m further (northwards) up the road to a better spot on the same side of the road, opposite the small lake.

Large open area with fire pits. Close to road so it is noisy during the day but quiet at night. We ended up here since Abraham Lake was completely full with weekend campers. There are many places along this road to camp. Decent Rogers cell signal.
