Description

Elk Lakes is one of the loveliest spots in the Rockies, with no crowds - only BC locals seem to come here. 70km dirt road north of Elkford (a bit rough but no 4x4 or high-clearance required), well worth the one-way detour. Short easy hike from this trail-head to the very beautiful Elk Lakes and glaciers. There are several longer and tougher hikes if you want. Plenty of basic recreational sites to camp on the way up the road, also plenty of side-trails for wild-camping. Loved it here. If this was on the Alberta side of the mountains, it would be as crazy-full as Banff!!

Latest Check-Ins

The hikes are amazing. Pétain falls is a must-do and if you’re ready for a tough trail Pétain basin was unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. Otherworldly.

Wonderful park, with beautiful trails to the Elk lakes. Specially now in autumn colours.
