Description

This is the furthest you can drive and 'official' trailhead to start hikes into the beautiful Valhalla park, but the last 2km of the track before this point are very rough. Only high clearance will make it this far. Overnighting is permitted and we had a peaceful night in our truck, but most people just park here and leave their vehicle whilst they go off camping in the mountains. There is a long-drop pit toilet, otherwise no camping facilities. Chickenwire is provided by the park - put it around your vehicle and secure with stones to protect your tyres and cables underneath from porcupines. If your vehicle won't make it this far, there is a small parking area 2km before this spot, at the start of the very rough section, where you can leave your vehicle and hike up to this trailhead.
