Description

The restaurant was closed but the man told us we can camp in the grass and enjoy the swimming pool. It is indeed the house of a nice family where there are delicious bananas and coco. 100 pesos per van (bumped to 150p) Only one thing to note : Just near the road so a little bit noisy. We ate our food on one of their tables near the swimming pool.

Just to echo all previous comments. Family are lovely and friendly. Access to the pool was fantastic as the temperature here is now over 30C degrees

Paid 150 pesos to park on their property the night before crossing to Guatemala via Ciudad Hidalgo. Restaurant was closed but we bought 2 cervezas for 50 pesos. We hear the noise of the autoroute, but it’s not that annoying.

As stated by others. Paid $150 mex for our campervan one night prior to border crossing. Restaurant closed for the evening as of our 5:30PM arrival.

Really nice place to stop for a night or rest for a few days. Nice owners and big swimming pool. Food was also good.

We can’t say enough good things about this family! We left our atv here for a period of time as it was difficult to tow around the town, trustworthy, very friendly a true show of concern to there guests, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again! It is noisy during the day but the night becomes much quieter. Grass areas, shade and pools to enjoy..... we also had a meal of shrimp which was delicious 100 pesos for an rv, you can’t go wrong.
15 min to the border.

We stayed one night, enjoyed the two large swimming pools, clean we with showers. We parked on the grass shade, and the family welcomed us very well even with tequila. 100 pesos / night as stated

Very friendly family. We parked for $100 and we could the pool and bathrooms with showers. Next to main road to ciudad hidalgo but slept pretty good. They serve food if you want. Good and safe place to spend the night before crossing the border.

Exactly as people said. The place is very simple, and quite dark at night, but there is somewhat of a gate. There were two bathrooms (female and male), but the female was quite dirt so we used the male one. It seems that the night was quite busy, as they mentioned. Because of the bathroom situation we decided to cook our own dinner in the motorhome and we paid 100 pesos for the night for a motorhome, which we parked over the grass.

The main road passes nearby so it is quite noisy. I was not able to sleep the full night completely, but other people didn’t had the same problem. So unlucky me, I guess.

Place is quite near the border which gaves us a headstart.

People were friendly.

I recommend this place for a night for the border next day.

Nice place before or after border crossing. Stayed two nights. Free if you order food. Safe. Friendly family. Refreshing swimming pool. Recommended!

We stopped and stayed for a night. Paid $100 each for dinner and were allowed to camp for free. The food was good and we felt pretty safe although the property is along a road and there is no gate. Passing traffic was a bit noisy at night but didn't keep us awake. Bathrooms are pretty dirty, no toilet paper, and we didn't see any showers, but the pool was clean and refreshing.

Report Check-In

Perfect for a night and to prepare for border crossing. Lovely people, they even did our laundry, for a fair price, when we asked for it!

cool place. free if ordered food. I would recommend. This is not luxury. but pleasant place on the road.

Stayed two nights while making a TIP renewal border run. Exactly as described. Even fits tall rigs. Also in town we found the furthest south Auto Zone, Home Depot and Walmart.

Have camped in this lovely family restaurant called Santa Amable already for a few weeks and been treated as family members. Two great swimming pools, lovely big green area for camping, toilets and showers. Amazing food and can camp for free when eating in the restaurant (otherwise 100pesos/night per car) Animal and child friendly. Only little bit annoying thing is a noisy road next to the campsite. Highly recommended.

Report Check-In

Stayed for one night. Super friendly family, had dinner and no charge for camping or use of pools. Recommended.

Very welcoming family. Great hospitality. Brought coconuts and fruits for free to the kids. 100 pesos to sleep or if you eat at the restaurant, it's free. The shrimps were delicious. Cold showers but with very good pressure and clean. We didn't use their electricity but they were saying that it's possible if you need so. We explained to the owner Pablo what was Ioverlander and they will be thrilled to welcome more travellers. 20 minutes from the border (Ciudad Hidalgo).
