Description

Turn off the highway and park anywhere before the dirt road climbs into the hills. Flat, easy road for any vehicle. Lots of room. BLM land. Good cell signal. We stayed a half mile off the road by ourselves, quiet, hardly any sound from the highway. Expansive views. No one bothered us, no signs forbidding overnight camping.

Great scenic spot, quiet with just a little highway noise.

Report Check-In

only 2.5 miles one way from the interstate.

Report Check-In

great place, lots of spots, very easy road as described. close to town and the freeway but super quiet. lots of cows about. drive past the point a little bit until you see the turn for the mountain bike trail, go past the trailhead and then start looking for spots

I passed and found a place similar farther south then backtracked to gps coordinates. copper basin is confusing for navigation. I stayed close to the road and it was nice with a few road travelers and the occasional vehicle heading further in and even up the hill. great Verizon and mint cell service. I got some work done. only a few Mormon crickets during the day.

Report Check-In

Quiet, flat, large open space! Great place. Stayed here twice in the last week. Will stay here again when passing through.

Report Check-In

Spent the night at the top of a hill, great views! Very peaceful.

Report Check-In

No problem getting in with a low clearance vehicle just be careful with potholes. Very quiet and was all by myself. Had decent cell service.

Report Check-In

Road is a bit rough and rutted with deep mud, might be a problem for 2WD with mild tires. We arrived after dark and couldn't find any established "sites" but we found a level spot about a 1/2 mile from the highway. It was quiet and we only heard two other vehicles go by in the morning.

Report Check-In

Cool place, a bit windy.
We spent the night at the top of one of the first hills. View was nice.
There were a lot of black massive grasshoppers. If you are afraid of big bugs, don't go there !

Report Check-In

flat easy to get to, we did get woken up by hikers walking by our camper.

Report Check-In

I stayed the night here and it was super quiet and I had it all to myself. I wasn’t quite sure where the spots were as there are just a few roads and then more roads intersect with them. So I parked in one of the crisscrossing roads. I arrive right at sunset so it’s kind of hard to see, but this morning I walked around and there was an awful lot of glass in the first few pull out spots. Drive a little farther down the road before you stop for the night. It was super quiet, and I woke up to a beautiful mountain.

Report Check-In

Large BLM parcel with winding trails. No signs restricting vehicles or overnight. May check BLM office in Battle Mtn for more info. Not seeing trash left behind. Good cell service.
Warning: website shows area as Day Use Bike Trails.

Report Check-In

Quiet, wide open flat spaces. Great views of Battle Mountain (the town and the mountain). No amenities. One other van we never heard.

Report Check-In

great spot to stay for the night. Close to i80. Only a couple other cars in the area.

Report Check-In

Quiet place perfect for an overnight stay. Easy to access for our big rig (41’ fifth wheel). We had the place to ourselves!

Report Check-In

Great spot, can stay close to the road or get a little further off and avoid the occasional headlight or engine noise. 3 minutes off the hiway, pleasant scenery to wake up to

Report Check-In

Super easy spot to get to, decently isolated away from the road. Can see the town but nothing is close enough to be a bother. Description is exactly as written. Only one other vehicle is about a football field away. Vast landscape and plenty of space to park / navigate our Ford Transit without any issues

Report Check-In

desolate beauty, stunning full moon, appears a bit disconcerting when turn off road, but I met a new friend, Nikki, and all was well. Travel safely!

Report Check-In

A network of roads weaving through some hills. Lots of places to pull off. Very flat. Roads are easily accessed in low clearance vehicles and 2WD. Close to the road, but not much traffic at night. Lots of snake holes in some areas and a bit of cattle grazing on these lands. If you have pets, best to keep them on a leash.

Report Check-In

Just as described. I drove a half mile off the highway, too. Quiet place to rest within site of town, but no noise other than the birds chirping.

Report Check-In

Lots of snake holes in this area. Not my scene so we moved on.

Report Check-In

Easy in/out from 80. After getting to camp around midnight, waking up to the views was a pleasant surprise.

Report Check-In

As described! Just a minute or two out of town, lots of flat spots. Soil seems very loose and silty, so if you don’t have terribly good tires, I’d recommend staying closer to the asphalt.
