Permanently closed. We called the number on the sign at the gate. The owner told us it is closed.

VERY DISAPPOINTING!
Frankly, I can NOT share the enthusiasm for this workshop:
On the positive side, they took us on at short notice on a holiday (for which they charged a ‚call out‘ rate of N$ 400 - which is ok).
Jacques was very nice and friendly, but had to leave and left the job to Chris.
Chris carried it out quick and fast … BUT: as it became obvious, a bit too fast and not thorough and not thought out well enough … a bit ‚cowboy‘-style.
Result:
- Job 1 (refixing the spare wheel mounting) was good for 330 km, then it got loose and cracks appeared
- Job 2 (refixing outside mirror) was good for 10 (ten) km
We reported these unsatisfactory situation by whatsapp, sent pictures … asked repeatedly for a comment … suggesting a settlement by means of a partial refund … took a while to get a rather ridiculous answer from Chris, flatly (and aggressively) refusing to discuss a refund and claiming he had told me it (ie his job) wont hold …
Fact is:
yes, he told me (but only after he had finished his job) that for additional stability, the wheel should have additional fixings … but he didnt have the required material. So I asked him, to get reassurance, if the job he just finished would hold … Chris confirmed with confidence: „Yes, sure!“. – As we experienced, it held for 330km.

Isn’t this ridiculous: a client comes with a problem … they say they can fix it and go about fixing it … they then take the money and on a side note remark that additional fixings should be considered … but confirm that the job, as they did it, will hold … and then let the client drive away … and when the job breaks some 330km later, the claim: „I told you it wont hold!“

Judge for yourself if you want to entrust your vehicle to such people.

Also a professional tyre shop here, same people, with wheel balancing machine etc et.
Also a good stock of second hand tyres in common 4x4 sizes to get you out of immediate trouble.

Best work shop and service in the wider area, will rescue you with a big flat bed truck from Purros, Desolation Valley etc, just call 24hrs a day.
Jacques has a really nice workshop and office area, professional crew and good tools, highly recommended, fixed my loose wheel bearing in 20 minutes even though it was their home time. All makes, including trucks, love Landies.
