Latest Check-Ins

Had to make another passport cause mine was stolen in Peru. Flavio was one of the nicest guys I ever had to deal with for any documents. Got instructions and help, and after paying the fee in the bank, he got me a new passport in like an hour.

Report Check-In

1. Passport type photo. 2”x2”. If you can get a digital copy of same, that will come in handy.
2. Itinerary. We just typed up a document with approximate entry and exit dates/places and some reasonably sounding intermediate points and dates.
3. Three most recent bank statements. I guess you can decide how much of that information to black out.
4. Fill out the visa application online following the link from here http://lima.itamaraty.gov.br/es-es/visa_de_visitante.xml it’s a government website and it’s horribly broken. SSL certificate is invalid. Don’t even attempt it in Safari. For this step you will need digital copies of your passport photos from step 1. We didn’t have digital copies so I used the scanner pro app and “scanned” my photo. You’ll also need a digital copy of your own signature. Figure that out on your own. They also have some crazy requirements for the file size and resolution of the uploaded photos.
5. It seems I read somewhere that you need to wait 72 hours after submitting the online application but I really don’t know as that’s how it worked for us anyhow. So, take your printed receipt from the online application and the other docs along with $160 USD or whatever the current fee is to the embassy.
6. We waited only 2 days. Turned in application on Monday, visas ready on Wednesday.
