Description

5 stars! not sure why ioverlander doesn't let me rate past 3.5 stars.

amazing spot! right off the freeway theres a hill that goes up, the campsite is fairly close up the road! our 24 ft gulfstream took it like a champ and hubby said it was an easy drive up. there's a fire pit here and the ground is pretty even we didn't even need to level. amazing spot, free and in nature!

no connection at all. prepare to be off grid!

Absolutely loved this spot! There was only 1 available when we went early April. The fence was still locked further up the road & fallen trees blocked the other road. No service but amazing being surrounded in nature. The spot we stayed in was large enough for a big rig or schoolie.

Great level spot up a dirt road off of the main drag. We didn’t expect there to still be so much snow up here. Luckily the pull off is right before they close the roads ahead during the winter. Our 2WD made it just fine, though, I was a little worried since it was raining. The fire pit and covered firewood was a quaint welcome, very happy to use a bit as it was damp outside.
We headed back down the hill just in time for more snow to start coming down. 10/10, will return. Please keep it clean!

Just adding photos before we leave. No service so I’m not sure if this will go through.

Wonderful spot with a fire pit reasonably level and fits our 40’ skoolie. No service (Verizon).

If you’re in a 40’ skoolie it could take you 5x longer to get up hwy 180 to 6,800’ in elevation, but is so worth. We just took the slow and steady pace up hwy 180. We drove 15mph mostly and stopped probably a dozen times so not to over heat our engine. The trees are worth it! Don’t give up if you’re in a big rig. Just go slow and steady and take lots of breaks. Good luck!
