Description

Many pull offs along the road past the historic gold mine. Some with fantastic sunrise views east to the valley below. Road is windy and dirt, but well graded. Please respect the no trespassing signs at the start of the road, and drive far enough past them to reach forest service land!

Latest Check-Ins

There is one good pulloff around these coordinate and it has been blocked off with boulders and the fire ring has been disassembled and raked over - clearly no longer okay to camp here.

I continued up the road a few miles to the cattle guard where there were two pulloffs, one with a fire ring.

Stopped there, couldn’t stay even tho we’re only 25 ft long there was no where to pull off road. Maybe if you in a van you could do one on the pullouts but they don’t look level. Didn’t stay 🥺

This is a shoulder pull off spot. Not good for tents

Report Check-In

I went out the road past the what seemed to be the highest elevation, and the road twisted around so that the valley was out of sight. I was getting a bit discouraged when the road took a left through a big cut through a hill side and there was a perfect pull over spot woth a view of the sunset over three different ranges. I nestled the car in there. And only two rigs passed the entire evening.
