The host is super nice and very accommodating, told us about the area.
He asked for 75q but accepted 50q

The bathroom isn't super clean but hey it does flush!
The shower was too dirty for us to try it, but it probably works

Very quiet and shady (added a photo of the entrance from the street)

Good restaurant next door.
The only place to stay in Sayaxche

came here as it was getting dark. the English speaking owner wasn't there but his wife said we could stay for 100. she agrees to 50 when we asked. unfortunately we did not stay as the place seemed pretty derelict. we couldn't find a place to connect to electricity where she told us to park, the toilets were dirty and the showers were even worse, with no light and looked very creepy. we also weren't given a wifi code unless we also bought dinner at their restaurant. in the end we left and stayed at the Shell gas station for free with shower, toilet, and wifi.

Had a wonderful stay and met several other cyclists while I was here! Rosendo was so great and welcoming. He shared the history of Guatemala with us as he proudly showed off his painted wall mural map. I slept on the roof of the restaurant for 25Q which was actually very nice! Great breakfast by his wife and his daughters restaurant for dinner was pricey but very good. Her restaurant has great WiFi.

One thing to note if you’re cycling from here south to Lanquin, Rosendo insisted that it’s faster to go past Fray Bartolome instead of the Coban route. While he’s correct that it’s a shorter route, it’s the toughest rocky climb I’ve ever done and took far, far longer.

Nice and safe place to sleep in Sayaxche.
This is a restaurant with a big lush garden where you can park - there are a few level and shaded spots. OK for big rigs.
Owner is super nice - he welcomed us and suggested a few places around town to see.
Toilets were OK and cold shower with lots of pressure was very good in such a hot climate.
He also lent us an extension cord to plug in our van, though voltage was not great and going up and down a bit. Not a problem but we couldn't run our AC for example, though laptops were OK.
Really quiet at night - street is close by but not much traffic. We paid 50Q.

Nice place and great owners. The man kowns a lot about the region, the mayan culture and he can help if you need any information to visit the ruins around without ruining your budget.
He 1st asked us 100q for a van and 2 people but we told him we heard it was 50q. He then said 50q was okay. Facilities are rustics (shower is cold with drops of water and you need your lamp as there is no light) but the place worst it: trees, birds, grass, close to everything and nice people.

Spent one night here pitching our tents on the roof of the restaurant. The owner speaks well English, and will tell you all about the surrounding areas, if you need any tips or suggestions on where to go, he's the guy.

Paid 25q for each tent.

Spoke to some of the tuk-tuk drivers in town, they said not to walk around town after dark as it's dangerous.

great place for 50Q in total. made a campfire at night. according to the owner there's also an archeological site in town, but we didn't check it out.
