Campsite with fire ring off of Forest Road 607. Room for several vehicles but probably not possible to get a big rig into the site. Nice view of Tuscon down below and nice stars at night.
Very quiet and out of view of MT Lemon Hwy despite being so close.
Moderate Verizon 4G service. Intermittent AT&T service.

Take a look at the weather forecast before planning to stay up here. The weather can be pretty intense. A 20% chance of rain down below in Tucson turned into 4” of snow and blizzard winds up here. It was a wild night.
Report Check-InLooks like this area popular. This road and around there are many spots to camp. We also had a small primitive fire pit.
Report Check-InThere are two dispersed spots with fire rings off of the dirt road. To the right, a large flat area that could fit 3 vans, more if you’re clever. To the left, a spot for one vehicle with a little path that winds to the top of the hill where there is a water tank and a two picnic tables (very overgrown, hard to access). Verizon signal was 1-2 bars, and I did fine with my Jetpack and booster to log some hours with my day job.
Continue down the forest road to the southeast (N Sykes Knob Rd on Google maps) and you’ll see a few more pull offs and fire rings on the left and cabins on the right.
The Mt Lemmon road is very close - you’ll hear every car that goes by. But it’s quiet enough at night.
I’d happily stay again for a night. Not much to do during the day here.
Report Check-InNice flat spot for a few rigs, tent / small car spot right next door tho. Great view but very exposed spot, any wind will hit you hard. Nice walking trails and climbing nearby. Check weather before you go :) very different climate than Tucson!
Report Check-Inlovely little campsite. beautiful morning view. great service and no road noise i heard. keep it clean! and pack in what you pack out. we were not bothered here for one night.
