La Muñequita Car Camping | Established Campground

AMAZING. highly recommend for an authentic honest place to stay in Costa Rica. We whatspped on our way around 7pm and he said we could come camp. we drive down a dark road to the farm house.

we camped in our roof top tent and had access to a cabanas for the kitchen, shower and toilet.

we came to pay the next morning and were invited for breakfast. we talked with the husband of the owners sister for 2 hours about Costa Rica and the farm. breakfast was great.

Amazing place for a local family experience, exactly what were looking for.

we paid 14,000 colones for two people for the night plus breakfast. worth every penny, and would have stayed longer if we didn't have to get the rental car back.

Spent one night here on our way from Drake Bay to Monteverde. We messaged on WhatsApp same day and were invited to camp or stay in a cabana on the farm, both lovely options. 10k colones for camping, which includes access to toilet, shower, and drinking water. 31k for a cabana. The family could not have been more warm & welcoming. We woke up immersed in a sound bath of more than 20 different birdsongs, including the Montezuma oropendula, one of the highlights of our trip around Costa Rica.

The camping area is not accessible by car at the moment. The bridge on the road is damaged and also there are low-hanging branches and bananas. The lady suggested that we park our van (with a rooftop tent) on the road on a very tight spot. We left. Would have been fair if she had told that the camping is closed because that’s what it is. Unfortunately I don’t know when the road will be open again.

Paid 8000crc/2pn. We could use a cabin with kitchen, electricity and bathroom. Everything clean. No WiFi. Good for one night.

Jenny took care of us very kindly, showed us the place and the camping area. Access to electricity, Wifi, drinking water, laundry and showers, all very nice and familiar. When we woke up the birds singing was beautiful and we were able to take spectacular pictures. We were given information about the museum of the spheres (5min from here). Highly recommended, quiet and safe place.

After a walk in the Corcovado National Park, we were looking for a warm and nice stay to spend the night and have a good shower as we were soaked because of the rain. We contacted La Muñequita via whatsapp to be sure to have a spot. The welcome was very warming. We happily took the invitation for dinner and had a cosy evening with the owners and volunteers working at the farm. Everything was delicious and all accommodations were clean and well built. We could sleep in one of the two cabanas and slept like babies. The next day we also had breakfast with the family and their care for us is heart warming 😍. We would advice everyone to spend their holidays with the Muñequita family 💓
