The ferry seems to be going twice a day according to this schedule. you turn up before the ferry and buy the tickets there.

We were at the ticket office about 2.5 hours before the scheduled departure to Chile Chico. No problem getting on the ferry which was not full. 20,000 pesos for our rig and free for driver and passenger. (We might have been given a break because we are seniors!!) The departure times are different every day so be sure to check the posted schedule at the building by the departure ramp. Comfortable journey even though the winds were strong (as usual) and the water was rough. The scenery was spectacular.

quand nous sommes arrivés im n'y avait plus de place sur le bateau. On nous a donné un ticket pour la liste d'attente nous étions 4ème. Nous sommes revenu une heure avant le départ pour voir si nous pouvions embarquer et nous avons pu monter les derniers... donc ça valait le coup d'attendre.

were able to get on the ferry by showing up 830 at the ticket office (thats when they open) after they were closed yesterday afternoon at 5pm. guess we got pretty lucky though, some people were turned back and told theyll have to wait. probably best to call ahead.

Same prices. Ticket corner opens 3 hours before departure.

I was told the previous evening they were full but I should come back at 8:30 the following morning. There might be a possibility. And there was.

All information correct except that if you declare your kids then you will pay adult rate for them. Although you will be led to believe that kids under 17 are free, the small print translates as follows: "The student rate applies to students of basic education, high school or higher who have residence in the district of Chile Chico or Puerto Ibañez duly accredited by the Provincial Government."

Also, driver not included in vehicle price, must buy passenger ticket.

mon 19:00, tue 10:30, wed 10:00 and 19:00, thurs 19:00, fri 19:00, sat 12:00, sun 19:00.

Departure times from Chile Chico:
mon 08:00, tue 8:00 and 18:00, wed 16:00, thurs 08:00, fri 16:00, sat 9:00, sun 16:00.

Travel time 2 hours and 20 minutes.
