Control point is here, but unmanned when we drove through.

Various police and military stops along this road. All want to look inside. Friendly. Some took photos.
Also many, many children with strings and sticks across the road asking for money. Maybe the holiday (New Years) or the weekend (Sunday) but really slows down the drive.

Traveling from coast to Ibarra - first there's an army check point, they just wanted to check our passports and register our details. This one's a police check point, just asked where we were going.
