Better not go here. The place was a mess and the mess was not made by the guests, because we were the only.. If you have a kitchen in your van better use that one. The WiFi didn’t work. So the $5 pppn was bassicly for the shower and toilet. If you want to smoke some weed, then i think you’re at the perfect spot.

Our experience is really mixed... Spent 2 days here. Sunsets are amazing, beach is beautiful and the waves are great for surfing. But: there are almost no facilities for overlanders. Camping spot is just a sandy spot, without any shade, privacy, tables or whatsoever. There's showers without doors so you need to bathe in swimmingsuit. When we arrived there was no water for the whole day. The owners question the safety of the camping spot but don't want their guard to check upon the campers at night. When you want to use the kitchen you have to pay 60 cs per time. We feel like there ain't much love or effort put in this place. It looks like the owners are rather lazy. The people from workaway were really nice however, and the food in the restaurant is good. Paid 10 usd for 2 persons per night to stay in our car.

10$/night + 12$/night for Electricity!?!
If you have dogs BEWARE! The owners have dogs and they have been known to bite. Our dog was bitten here, unprovoked on the 3rd day we were here. They attempted to keep their dogs leashed or away, but they got out and cornered one of our dogs unexpectedly. Apologies were exchanged, but later we found out one of the two dogs is known to be aggressive towards dogs and people. No worries if you do not have dogs, but just be mindful. Our dog had to be seen by the vet for an abscess and infection.
We enjoyed this spot for the nice sunsets and tide pools. BUT the water and "flushing" toilets did not work most of the time we were here = bucket flush.
Also, upon leaving they wanted to charge us $12/night to plug in our tiny fans to help us combat the heat at night. We were able to get them down to $10, but still.. a little steep for the small amount of electricity we used.
Worth it for the sunsets and tide pools, but I wouldn't recommend if you need to plug in or have dogs and you want to enjoy the hammocks and common areas in the shade.

What everyone else has said about the place and the staff, very nice. The place is coming along and I'm sure it will only get better with time. We had no problem in our vanagon. They have a flat grassed lot for camping. They have a little restaurant there if you don't want to cook but if you do, definitely bring food because like others have said, there is nothing around. Would definitely recommend!

Great place at the beach. No problem anymore to get bogged in. Mostly grass. Great natural pools on the sea by low tide. Professional staff and great service!

Report Check-In

Nice little establishment. Parking is right next to the ocean for the campers. Toitlets and outside showers are finished and it takes 5 seconds to reach them. Its a sandy lot, so be prepared to get bogged in. Had to use our sandladers. Too heavy and 2wd. No problem with low hanging trees. Some parts of the last stretch of the road is now perfectly smooth stone road and the dirt road is doable even in ferrari. All the rest lot owners are burning trash soon as it gets dark...

Report Check-In

Yes, soild place. The natural swimming pools that appear out of the ocean at low tide were my favorite.
$5 to camp with the usual facilities.
when the internet worked it was good.
drank the tap water for a week with no issues.
bring any supplies you need, local store only had booze, cigarettes, chips & onions.
Talk to Sam or Diego who own the joint, they are super nice and like to help.

The owners are very nice. There relaxation deck is nice but they have the worst hammoks. One of them no one sits in it. In the land of hammoks this seems stange. Easy fix. WiFi is pretty good on the deck. Bathrooms are clean. This place is good for tent campers, but the really dusty sand lot across the street is lame and did not feel secure enough to be paying $10 a night to be so exposed. I hate to complain about walking, but to get to the bathroom is a long annoying walk around the whole property. They need to put a short cut for the Overlanders. I do think the situation will improve. They are still in the building process, and the more Overlanders they get I could see them getting better at acomadating us.

Report Check-In

Great place for camping!!! With the place for motorcycles, with showers, WIFI, electricity and very clean WC, also with the place to rest on a hammock. I strongly recommend!! Near the ocean, great place to camp, especially for surfers. You can hear the waves. Nice food, nice drinks, juices. The service is very kind. 5 $ per person for night. They are still building somethnig new.

the parking lot to camp is not so nice, very loud, a lot of work going on around, they burn trash frequently all around which smells very bad
be careful of the neighbors dog (a black one!) he was biting me on the way back from the shower. the owner is a very nice guy and the beach is good.
price is 5$ each

For everyone who has said "I don't want to go to the touristy place" this is the place, but not for long. Get in NOW. The people running this place have an awesome vision of what it should be. Yeah, if you're in a camper it's a bit inconvenient but let me tell you, the slight inconvenience will be rewarded ten fold. Great place for digital nomads with good wifi. Inexpensive food and drinks. Fabulous atmosphere. I wish the owners the best of luck.

Report Check-In

Really nice, its just a bit sad that we can't park inside the camping area cause it's small. And from outside parking we have no power to connect. Beautiful natural pools in front and good place to hang out! Amazing sunset! Bring all the food cause there's no shops around.

Report Check-In

Great place to stay. Their parking across the road is big enough for any size rig. Only downside to it it doesn't have power, however u have everything you need on the beach side. Really nice couple, Morgan is a great hairstylist ( we did put her skills to test for $5).
Definitely the place to come for a visit. Construction is still going on, and they are making progress.

Wonderful place, we ended up staying here for 9 nights in a tent. Chill atmosphere, friendly owners and a good place to learn how to surf. The common areas and kitchen are finished now. They also have surfboards for rent. $5 per person per night.

Just perfect! we spend 3 relaxing nights here.

It's a really lovely spot away from the tourist trail! the owners are really friendly and have a great concept. the communal areas are finished and are great to hang out in. they will eventually build camping areas but right now you can camp in a lot across the road. they are both avid motorbikers and would love to have motorbikers come through. they have areas for tents already set up with toilets and showers. there isn't any electricity - we asked and they said no but let us use a small space in their fridge. definitely an awesome beach and the rock pools are really beautiful! the road isn't too bad to get in either! food is available for purchase and on Sundays they do wood fire pizza!

Super endroit, super patrons! Mais je dois metre un bémol. ...

We spent two days at this lovely tho unfinished place. As some said before they are not done yet with the place. But the people there really do make up for it. If no other guests are parking in front of the house you can park there, but be aware that some trees hang quite low. Otherwise you can park across the street on a grassy-sandy empty land. It is super safe, you just have a longer walk to the facilities. They also have a guard during the night. The bathrooms are nice and clean and as well is the outdoor shower. There is no electricity hook up possible, the Wi-Fi is good. We could use the kitchen with its utensils. But they also sell foods and drinks. The beach is directly in front with a low tide pool and some great surfing spots around. We paid 5$ per person per night.

Report Check-In

Reading previous reviews, we expected this place to be at least half way finished, which it wasn't. But the owners make up for it in enthusiasm! There was no room for us at the beach side lot; 1 other camper was there and their own car. Branches were quite low (we are 3.1 meters high). So we camped at the empty lot, soon (?) to be annex campground further down the street. The palapa verandah at the beach is wonderful. Toilets and 1 shower outdoors (with walls) at beach side lot. Other ablutions will be built at the other lot too. OK internet. So place to be? It sure will be. We had fun joining them and learning about their ambitious plans. US $ 10 for a van (2 persons). The last 7 km is dirt road but doable without 4x4.

still new and getting built. but great place to hang out. dogs allowed. 2 pitsbulls on property.

So happy to have found this spot. Went out on a whim in search of some waves and found so much more. Mind the Gap Nica is an awesome campground right on San Diego beach. Nice cold showers and a fully equipped kitchen. Amazing tide pools right out front at low tide and great surfable waves at high tide. Nice point break 10 min walk down the beach. $5US per person per night. If you are passing through, this is the place to be.

Like the previous posts say; this IS the place to stay. The owners are super chill. Morgan does spa treatments on site. Great view. A very new place so some construction around. They are building bathrooms and showers for campers and overlanders. They also are starting up a campground across the street. Diego is very knowledgable about different areas. Spent a great 3 days here.

Report Check-In

We love this place. The three owners of the place Morgan, Diego and Sam are super friendly and help you with everything you need. They just started their business at a place where is usually only possible to get a place for about 80$ and more. Currently they are still expanding in order to fit more people. For the two surf breaks you have to walk a little but it is worth it. One star less just because it is not finished yet.
