Description

*Overnight camping/parking is NOT available at this location.
.....
This is a small beachfront hotel in Los Cobanos. The hotel also offers tours (Tour Company name is Water Quest) and excursions and the staff and owner are incredibly nice. They allow camping in their fully-fenced parking lot and access to wifi, pool, bar, restaurant, laundry (washer and dryer available) and even electricity if you don't use a lot! they are also the only certified PADI dive resort and can get you out in the water for very reasonable prices. We paid $6 per night to camp! (As of March 2017 they now want $15!!!!) Big rigs can fit, but the big issue is that they get very busy on the weekends with Salvadorans from the city. so if you are much longer than 25ft or so, the parking lot will get a bit congested. We were the first overlanders to stay here and the owner is very excited for others to visit. Let's not ruin this awesome spot, buy a beer or meal here during your stay.

there is a new owner and it change the prices. it's 25$ to sleep in your car on the parking, 10$ p/p in dormitory, 45$ the dble room. the beach is dirty and with many rocks. there was nobody to serve us a breakfast. small clean and nice pool. but for us it's not anymore an highoverlander spot.

Secure parking lot, had power outlet, great food at the restaurant(we had the fresh fish). The beach is full of boats and garbage. We used the pool instead. Locals were friendly and enjoyed their music, we danced with them. We had a great time!

Price is now $15 to camp, we managed to get them down to $12 which is still pretty expensive. All facilities are nice, as described and you're right on the ocean. Just be prepared to be woken up at 6am by MJ greatest hits or salsa music BLARING from the bar. I asked them to turn it off and they looked a little confused but did it. They also started digging up the sewage pipes which are in the car park/camping area when we were cooking dinner. Lovely. I wanted choose another site but the pool was a big pull for us given the heat.

Owned by an American, Paul (talkative). He wanted to charge $12 to park but $20 for an upstairs room, we took the room. Room was large with two twin beds and a balcony with ocean view. Small parking lot so can understand not allowing parking on weekends but he does own lot across the street which is also guarded on weekends. BTW Do not drive right into village. our GPS took us there; instead watch for sign on road by soccer field - turn right. If you come expecting to swim at beach, reconsider; boats out front and what Paul calls the "nice beach" is full of rocks although nice to look at. beach at Barracks Santiago much nicer but we couldn't find a place to stay there so came down here. This was okay for one night. Wi-Fi was slow. Good Claro reception.

Small comfortable dive resort with affordable clean cabin rooms. We stayed in a cabin with 4 beds for $20 USD. ($5 per person) good fans and clean restrooms with showers. The seafood at the restaurant is catch daily. Very fresh. You can camp in the parking lot for $6 to camp on your vehicle but it is really hot. Safe gated property.

Great little hotel in the small fishing village of Los Cobanos. It seems like the owner doesn't have a consistent rate for sleeping in the parking lot but since there were 4 of us he offered us a room with 4 twin beds for $20 total. Very eccentric but super sweet guy. Wifi, pool, bathroom/showers, and restaurant with good food! No AC in the room we stayed in but there were fans.

Report Check-In

No rooms left and we were not allowed to camp in the parking lot.
