POSTED NO CAMPING

This spot is a locals spot just down the way from the official pay Keough Hot springs, lots of various spots to camp and plenty of built up pools, the water is the perfect temp (close to 90 deg f), all free. Goverment land posted no camping, but no ones bothered us in 3 days we've been camped here and seen a few others overnite. Great views of the Sierras and stars while soaking the tub

Great couple of pools. Hot! Perfect temp! We camped here last night but we’re awoken around 6am and told to leave and given a written notice.

Amazing! Perhaps the highest flow rate of any hot spring I have been to. Clear water. No weird smell. Perfect temperature. Might never leave!

Incredibly clean pools without strong sulfur smell

Wonderful!!! Loved this place I’ll be back!!

Confirmed: signs are posted about the amoebas. Relatively quiet spot, I see a couple of cars camped around the area. Dark and secluded. The water was pretty warm, but got colder as the night went on. I overheard that they are draining the upper pool at the campground further up the road and refilling it, hence the drop in temps. I was told the water is actually H O T during the day. Also: there are power lines directly overhead the upper pool, zapping and popping away, which slightly takes away from being outdoors. The views of the sierras before it got dark were amazing.

Nice place to soak in a hot tub; we had a calm night without issues- some locals spend also their night in the car

Water is just lukewarm at 5C outside temp in the morning... No camping signs still there.

This is a sweet spot, although the water was more on the warm-ish side and not as hot as we wanted when we visited last December.
Also just wanted to share a PSA for everyone who partakes in hot springs/creeks:
DO NOT under any circumstances put your head under the water!! Two people have died in Inyo county in the last 6 months due to a brain-eating amoeba found in warm & hot water sources such as this.
Look it up, I’m not joking. Stay safe out there!

Soooooo nice -
sitting in a real warm river :)

Soooooo nice! This is definitely one of the most beautiful places we've camped our van in the states. The springs are crystal clear and hot. Nice view of the snow-capped mountains beyond the valley. About 5 other vans camped out overnight.

Who doesn't love a warm soak

after talking to a few locals i put my tent up at the end of a dirtroad that goes up the hill. some campers stayed overnight directly at the hot springs. they don't have enough resources to patrol the area right noe, so might be fine to just risk it like the locals do...

Posted: State property. No fires/cooking with fire, no camping. Asked locals, if there is no fire no tents, no alchool/noise, chances are the sheriff wont knock at your door at 2:00am. Its worth the stop just for the tubs btw!! :)
