Small archeological site with cave painting about the size of a small truck cab. Hiking trails and a palapa for shade with a wood burning stove option. And free camping we think. We did not stay.

Short hike to an amazing cave with bright paintings. beautiful views as well.
Report Check-InNative American Cave Paintings, NOT a campsite. If you want to camp simply go 500 yards north to the abandoned campground at the Dome house.
Report Check-InThe comments on this post talk about two different places. These are the coordinates for the cave painting where the palapa Is - not where the dome is. The dome is in another location just up the road. There is a nice trail with signage leading to the cave paintings. It is well worth a stop. We did not stay here.
Report Check-InSaw the cave paintings, hiked around and decided to stay for the night. Established sites mentioned are only for rent camping. We'll stay in the parking lot. Feels safe enough but might be noisy because it's so close to the road.
Report Check-InThe dome looks very post apocalyptic, definitly worth a stip just to check it out. I love all of the different cactai in this desert, this is a good place to walk among them.
Report Check-Innever found the cave paintings but nice night wild camping in the desert. lots of small (non biting) bugs after sunset.
follow the track past the dome building and through the "gate" to find several developed spots.
a bit if road noise but not bad after dark.
tents would also be fine here.
Report Check-InPosition is OK now. Beautiful spot, but you are very visible for Mex-1 traffic. We didn't stay.
