Police said, this is not a safe spot. A Little Wood of acacia like trees. There Are signs that this is Conaf (nationalpark Rangers of Chile) but no gates or anything. Plenty of spots on the right and left side by the road. Sand ground so 4x4.
Update 01/20 : we asked the police today, they said it's safe to sleep here. No need for 4x4. Quiet, protected from the wind. Some flies and mosquitoes
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Stayed around this area for one night with out motorhome. It was rather an emergency stop, since it was late. Found a place somewhere between the trees. Was okay.
Report Check-InWe stayed here one night, nice and safe. Good shade. In the morning a park guard came and told us we had to leave. This area is in the reserve and it is prohibited to camp and make fire (we had a propane gas stove in the car). He said there is a fine for doing that but since we didn't know he just asked us to pack our things and go. He was very nice and seemed sincere to us. Same rules go for all of the reserve.
Report Check-InWe felt safe here and spent one night completely alone. Now I understand the debate between 4wd and non-4wd required. We got completely stuck and we’re digging for hours to get out. We arrived at night and didn’t notice the big difference between the ‘path’ with solid tyre marks, and the soft sand just next to it. We highly recommend arriving when there’s still some light, so you don’t make the same mistake as us. Super quiet and beautiful spot for stars
Report Check-InWe asked the police, they said it's safe to sleep here. Slept there, lots of different spots to park, quiet night. Protected from the wind.
Report Check-InVery nice and quiet place among the woods.
Protected from the wind. With wooden tables and benches to eat.
We parked few hundred meters to desert behind this spot and two police with an UTV visited us at late afternoon. They said this are is not very safe because of narcotics and theft. We moved.
Report Check-InWe were moved on at 8pm by the park person who said that staying overnight is not permitted. Nice stop for lunch or a break though, but no camping.

Report Check-InStayed here for 2 nights. Lots of trees to hide behind. Protected us from the stormy weather there at the time. Some locals live nearby so plenty of goat poo and thorns from the trees.
Report Check-InIt looks like there's people living in huts nearby. Nice spot, with picnic shelters. We didn't stay the night. We managed with 2wd.
Report Check-InYou can find a good camping spot in here with a 2WD vehicle. Lots of trees to hide behind.
Report Check-Inreally quiet spot to overnight... no far from the road 23 but very little traffic at night. just heard some donkeys during the night.
