I got 2 months extension, but...

BUT

1) try to go with a kind Iranian friend, because you have going around many offices and talk with several people

2) it’s an “official place”, so avoid short trousers / sleepers / showing Tatoo and other clothes not properly in Iranian/Muslim style

3) be kind and keep smiling

Ps each month extension costs 500.000real (so I paid 1.000.000real). It was my second extension, it took 5days.

3 hours to get the first extension visa. And you have to go to different offices. No need to wait at the office in the yard, go directly to 1sr floor, room 8, then room 12. Then, room 8. Next room 18. After that, go to the office in the yard (the first one on your left) where you will pay for the extension. Then go to the little shop before the guard for different copies. Go back to the office in the yard. And then, again, go to the room 18 on 1st floor. If you succeed all these steps :-), you will get your extension visa!!!

2 Belgian Passports - 1th extention

We got our 30 day visa extention here, allthough it took us 2 days.

Day 1: we got confirmation for 30 days pretty quick but they could not deliver it the same day. First they told us it would take 2 days, we compromised on the next day. The paperrun took us 1h45, it is a mess and you just have to ask a lot where you have to be for the next step.

Day 2: We went back at 9am as agreed the previous day. However, our case was not ready and they gave us some bullshit excuses, 'system error'. They told us to wait until 1pm. We argued and tried to get priority on our case but we just had to wait. After 2h30 it was ready.

So 2 days and each time roughly 2 hours which is maybe not bad but the process is kind of a mess and takes a lot patience.

Also, if you have time left on your visa they will not let you extent here but refer you to the next city you will visit.

It took us 3 hours and we know it’s easier anywhere else:
First the official said „no“. After discussions he said „2 weeks“. Now we said „no“ and sat down. Then he said „3 weeks“. We again said „no“ and stayed. After the help of other officials the guy finally gave us 30 days.
Then he didn’t let us pay in the office, we had to go to a specific bank, that, we‘d already guessed, was not around the corner. So we drove there, payed the money, got a receipt, came back and were told that „now it’s too late“.
With the help of a local who already helped an Italian traveler to get his passport back (he was flying out and they insisted of keeping his passport because his extension was „not ready“), they agreed that it was not „too late“.
They wanted to keep the passport for 5 days, but our local helper managed to convince that stupid bunch of officials to to their job. And suddenly the stamp was in the passport...
So better do it in an other town, we‘ve been to Tabriz and it was well organized, others we met were in Yazd and had no problems. It seems they changed their minds here in Isfahan about how to tread foreigners...

All women are conservatively dressed. A woman before me had to take her lipstick off. Backpacks cannot be taken inside. We had our second extension within two hours. No questions, only in which hotel we slept (you have to fill in an address) You will be sent from desk to desk about 8 times. They make all copies for you. Bring two photos. And cash because they ask someone else to pay for you by Iranian card.

Open: 07:00-14:00, no phones inside.
They have copy possibility and they take the money directly (by iranian credit card so they'll find someone for you to pay) - no need to go out to a bank.
Visa extension first time needs one day, second extensions takes 4-5 days they told us. BUT: then they gave us the second extension within 3 hours. 345.000 Rial p.p. and 30.000 for map and copy. Don't forget pictures, women with hijab. As european you get prioritized all the time.

For visa extension. Prepare 2 passport photos (women with hijab on) and around 345,000 rial for visa extension. They will hold your passport for a few days.
