Restaurant is closed at this time, not enough demand.
Lovely nightspot, though.
Lá Cueva de Uribe is gown by the river, do you don't see it from the viewpoint.

Report Check-In

arrived around 7pm, looked closed... nobody around

This looks like a beautiful spot but there was no sign of life here on a Saturday early evening. The restaurant was closed and locked, there was nobody around to ask permission so we left and drive about 10 minutes north to the first restaurant and got permission to sleep there

I came before the pandemic two years ago and I'm super happy to see that the place still exists! The view is super nice and the owner of the restaurant, Eduardo is very welcoming and offers space for free so don't hesitate to eat at his restaurant!

Very recommended place for a night, large and flat space for parking. There’s noise at night since it’s right next to the road. There’re bathrooms at the back. Safe, good for a stop, the parking for a nice restaurant, you can have something there to help the local people. No WiFi.

Nice spot to stay, made to very welcome by eduardo. Place felt very safe and great views. We had chicken and rice dish with a beer each for 25,000.

Free. Lovely sunset and sunrise. Tucked away from the main road so it was mostly quiet at night. Restaurant next door has drinks and food. Friendly folks and happy to host Overlanders. Toilet at the restaurant, a hammock, and space to hide if it rains. We recommend it!

Holy shit... The view... And the family is so nice!!! I asked and the lady said i can just camp there for free. Had some dinner there, she made me something veggie. So nice.

The owner Eduardo is a wonderful man. I arrived late and stopped to rest because the night caught me in the road. Eduardo had no problem to receive me and offer his place to park. The landscape from the gazebo is beautiful!

Beautiful and peaceful! no shower and dingy baños.

Perfect place to take a break after a long day drive! Great view - you can even park your van and open the pop-top under the gazebo if it rains at night... - enjoy a fresh beer or even take a bath in the river for the braves...
Food is good and there’s a bit of wifi at the restaurant. Worth a stop if you pass by :)

Great spot, beautiful view of the rivers and good and cheap food. Eduardo is the nicest, brought us Coconuts and left the machete if we wanted more! U would never know this place has such a great view as looks like nothing from the road. He even has a trail from the camping area down to the river. Highly recommend for a night or even two if need a rest

Perfect for the night. We enjoyed the view and the hospitality. It’s nice to relax in the hammock after a long day of driving. The food at the restaurant is good.

Report Check-In

Amazing. Best hosts of the trip to date. Truck and Flippac fit under roof. Good food at restaurant, was greeted by owner with a couple of cocos. Truly awesome stop!

Report Check-In

Much nicer than what you expect parking behind a restaurant. There’s a big flat area about 50m back from the restaurant, with a huge concrete gazebo (you could park / cook inside if it’s raining) and an epic view across the valley and down onto the river. The perfect spot to chill and drink a beer after braving those roads and trucks all day. There’s a bathroom at the gazebo but it’s bit grim, the ones at the restaurant are nicer. Good food (8000 - 10000 per meal). They have a book that other overlanders have written in. Perfect place between Popayan and the border.

Great free spot!! The ladies working at the restaurant were so sweet. Big lot for parking any size rig, even tents would work. We parked next to the bathroom where there was a light at night and hook up available. There is also a shower although there isn't much pressure. In the morning we tried to buy coffee and the ladies wouldn't take our money. Great spot!

Good stop between popayan and ipiales.

This is an okay place for a stopover. It was quite warm when we were there, but it was relatively quiet at night for being next to the road. We had breakfast for $4COP pp. The scrambled eggs were excellent. Very friendly owners.

Lovely place to stay the night either before crossing the border into Ecuador or coming from Ecuador to Colombia. Edwardo was very nice and they didn't ask for anything for camping. We got some beers and two meals from the restaurant. Really recommended.
