Description

Fine place in the trees next to river and railroad. We took the minor road turn off at the corner of the main road past the other wildcamp spot (fine for big rigs). We continued down the track, cut through the trees towards the river, down a cutaway track to the bottom level (still high up from the river) at these coordinates. Fine for motorcycles and bikes, various flat spots between the trees, space for a large tent. We didn’t try to climb down to river for water. Not the most spectacular for Peru standards, but a good quiet spot for the night on the road south from
Cusco to Bolivia.

Followed directions given here. Big flat area. Camped up fine. A couple of locals walked by, no issues. super quiet. some great eagles having a spat with some parrots 🦜 for entertainment!

A super nice place away from the street. easily accessible for big rigs. We had a wonderfully quiet night. A bit trash.

Good quiet place, lots of options to park. Good Bitel reception, almost no Claro reception.

Beautiful place, quiet night among eucalypt trees.

Stopped here only for lunch on the way to Cusco.

Nice place off the main road, good vibes. Our friends did spend the night here and they said some people were walking around around midnight which is kinda weird cause it's not so close to anything.

But other then that they said it was ok.

Great spot, just as described. We spent a quiet night and felt safe. Some locals at a field nearby in the morning but they didn’t bother.

Really a great place! we spent two very peaceful nights here. Locals came during the day to have a picnic, but otherwise, almost no one passed by here. A bit of trash, but we did our part and collected what we could. Good 4G signal from Movistar.

Awesome spot, probably one of our favorites in Peru! If you are coming from the North, you can also take an earlier exit just after the bend (it's on Google maps) and drive 1 km past a farm parallel to the highway to avoid the sharp turn. You can hear the road and people from the other side of the valley a bit, but otherwise very quiet. No trains for us. Claro and Movistar reception.

Nice and quiet spot indeed! We arrived in the dark but found the place easily based on the info below. When you drive the little road parallel to the highway, after a couple 100 meters you’ll see a track between the trees on the left, giving way to a lovely open camp spot between the trees. We felt no need to go down to the lower level as it was quiet enough (even for a pop-up roof).

Really a great place, anywhere is good.
Entry at the other spot nearby, be carefull the entry point might be dangerous, in a curve, coming from Cusco, better make u-turn on parking lot 1 km away and enter by the other lane, otherwise turn to enter very sharp.

Very special location, managed to drive my defender down to the lower level. On the upper level the road noise would be too much, but further along the river there are plenty more camping options further from the main road. Good claro reception. Did not hear a train come by.

Fantastic spot indeed! Super flat, invisible from the road, nice river background sound to sleep, and like 2km from town for a nice cena at 6 soles. Only a train woke me up at 2am from the other side of the river, which btw isn’t really accessible (10m lower, vertical). I recommend!
