To access this point, you need to go through an estancia, park in front of their buildings and finish on foot. Definitely not anymore a free access wild camping spot. But very nice place : worth a look !

Recommendation to moderators: close this site as wild camp spot. We visited today. The site is a protected wetlands now, with some buildings, a parking spot and restricted access on foot. Many 4x4 tours stop here. Beautiful walk, just not possible to camp anymore. Access from the main road to the grey buildings visible from the road. Parking is just a couple of hundreds of meters ahead.

The last curve opens a paradise. Short cut grass, small river and the stunning Laguna Negra near by. A strange fauna. The track from the Estanzi Catal is tricky: deep water, narrow rock formations on both sides, sharp curves, only for cars with high clearance, not broader than 2m. We made it with a Landcruiser Camper. A few tour operators visit this place, but in the evening it is very quiet. Along the rock wall no wind. No facilities, not for Big Rigs. Crossing with other vehicles may become difficult.

didn't reach it in our 308d with 25cm clearance. have to go through a small river, 30cm deep, 4m long with rocks in it...

Its a beautiful way to get to this place. We drove it with our toyota landcruiser with 3.5tonnes, and 2meters wide. bigger is not possibel, narrow.

beautiful oasis surrounded by natural rock walls. great spot for exploring and climbing. llama and all kinds of wild life. valley covered with Bermuda grass. aka lumpy putting green with a some little water hazards. came here on a 3 day tour out of uyuni. if you have the vehicle probably 4x4 only. well worth the effort to stay the night or spend the day. need high clearance and probably nothing but jeeps and like vehicles can get here. drive slow with some tight turns.
