Description

Amazing thermal waterfalls fed from the Rio Caliente!! There is a property owner who let us park on his property and then took us down to the waterfalls for only $1us. When there, he pointed out good places to swim as well as where to cliff jump. We did not ask to camp as it was very early in the day but we are sure he would of let us for a few dollars. When you come from town, it's a few kilometres down a bumpy dirt road and it is the first place on the right about 100 meters after the bridge. Such an amazing hidden secret of El Salvador!!! (it's in the Lonely Planet guidelines, so not that secret anymore. )

falls are free. parking is 2 dollars per car. take the road west or east. road from south is vey rocky.
falls are awesome. hot and they look good.
there are little animals in the water. they only eat the plants on the bottom so no worries. but be prepared. they will be all over you in seconds. the only place without them is the small pool on the other side of the falls where cold water mixes. there soaking is perfect.
can highly recommend the detour

probably one of the best natural hotsprongs experience of our trip.
perfect temperature, beautiful surrounding (except for the plastic).
had the place to ourselves after sunset and at sunrise.
packed on weekend days.
awesome stop!

we came here during semana santa, the parking lot was super crowded. it's getting less crowded at 4/5 pm. then we went to the falls. it's beautiful and the water temperature is very nice!
unfortunately is trash everywhere.
we didn't meet Mariano, so nobody charged us sth.

amazing water falls!!! Hot like a spa ! We were supposed to hike santa ana volcano but it was super windy so everything was closed /so we found this place instead.
jumping in the water or not it was worth the road which we didn’t find that much descent. It depends which road you take, the one coming from santa ana is not the best but still doable slowly.

Amazing place, a must in El Salvador! Mariano is the local guide who takes you to the waterfalls and tells you were you can jump from. It’s free but it’s good giving a voluntary contribution to Mariano, very nice guy who likes overlanders! You can also camp for free next to his place! Highly recommended!

This place is great. Hot river with waterfalls and little pools where you can relax. We loved it. Pupusas at near church were great

Very nice place. Water not the cleanest in the world, but with a perfect temperature to relax. Few spots to "cliff dive", if not sure where ask or pay a local :)
Camped for free, no issues. On Sunday evening the nearby church(one you pass on the way) had a mass and local ladies were selling super delicious pupusas, if you see them, go and grab some :) 3 for 1$

Gorgeous waterfalls. Price: free. We parked in the gravel road as the locals do and we didn't have any problem. Advise: I was in the waterfalls with my boyfriend, wearing a bikini and I discovered a man between the trees touching himself.

Camped next to a family home. Very rural basic spot. Mariano, one of the family members showed us where to camp and walked us to the thermal waterfalls. The Waterfalls are gorgeous and worth the visit. We would not swim in it as it was noticeably not clean. We paid $2 USD per car to camp including the guided walk to the waterfalls.

Mariano and his family were very welcoming and friendly. It was very nice to meet his family and see they humble home.
