Beautiful State Park set right on the shores of the Kanopolis Reservoir. A basic site was $16. A little 'off the beaten track' but worth the drive. The first campsite in Kansas!

Lovely ground, grounds keeper was nice, lake was warm, $28 for out of state
Report Check-InSplurging on a campsite here with electric tonight since it was 99 degrees today. Beautiful place with tons of hiking trails. Highly recommend site 703. Shaded and provides a perfect view of the sunset over the lake.
Report Check-InThis location is actually not free, even in the off-peak season, it is still $10/day for capsite + $5/day for vehicle permit.
The free campsite is a few miles south "Kanopolis Lake Campground", maintained by the Corps of Engineers. That's where the posted photo of the sign fee is located.
Off season camping with no hook ups was free :) drinking water available - has a slight chlorine taste. no toilets, shower though. Electric hook up was $10. I’m posting a picture of the sign. We had a nice quiet night here and I would stay here again if I was in the area
