Guatemala
Because most of the other hostels in the area have bad reviews I figured I'd enter this one.
Basic dorm beds 50 qz/night, super friendly host and staff, cold showers, no WiFi or Tigo mobile signal. Large parking area that isn't gated, but is removed from the road and in sight of the cabins and restaraunt, unlike some of the other options in the area. Felt safe parking my bike. Far enough away from Semuc Champey to be chill, but still close enough to walk, although it is a bit of a hike up and down hill . From this spot you can flag down a truck for 10 qz if you want. Didn't try the restaraunt on site, normal slightly touristic prices (beer 20 qz, burrito 35, pizza 70). I'm not sure if you can camp in your van here, as I don't have one I didn't ask, but it seems suitable. you'll still be advised by the host to have 4x4 to get here, although the road to get to this spot is generally better than the final stretch into semuc.

Walking distance to the river. dorms are just mattresses in the attic of wooden house. privates are under the dorms so can be a bit noisy from above. Price/quality good considering location in the jungle. Starlink internet, cold showers, okay food
Report Check-InReally great place. Good parking for motorcycles and food is great. Only cold shower, good wifi and close to Semuc Champey.
