Something not right?

Description

On the right side heading towards Hoanib River; look for a patch of road without any grass, we almost missed it ourselves. No MTC service. Hundreds of Zebras here!! Drive 50M and you’ll find a little half “valley” type hill thing (see pic) that provides you with protection from the wind. We left a fire pit for you, enjoy the Zebras :)

Latest Check-Ins

It is truly a place with a lot of wild animals. We saw a lot of fresh Lion footprints in the area were warned by locals against camping there. We traveled by bicycle. I would recommend staying cautious.

Report Check-In

Came here in the afternoon and couldn’t find that place. But as we drove around the little hill, we found a beautiful waterhole and camped a little further up the hill with perfect view on it. Don’t know if the waterhole is also there in dry season but I totally recommend that place. Had a few zebras coming and lots of giraffes (A herd with 11 giraffes came in the evening). Calm, cold and quiet night. Absolutely hidden from the road, no shadow. Stunning place!

Beautiful place overlooking the savanna plains in front of you. We saw some zebra’s and springbokkie’s around sunset and heard some animals around the tent in the night. The old stone quarry gives you some wind protection unless the wind comes from the South. The main road is rather close so you can hear and see cars passing, but it didn’t bother us and no traffic after 8PM. We enjoyed this wildcamp!

Report Check-In

Great camping spot, somewhat sheltered from the wind, no zebra today though
