Description

Just a few meters from the road, accessible by an easy gravel road, directly at Yukon river surrounded by forest. Little spartan camp built by other travelers! Fire pit and an outhouse without doors! Love this place!

Good spot, most likely you will have company. friendly first nation fam came to bbq and also another camper came to go jogging. Space for maybe 3-4 rigs to space out. River access down a boat launch road or trail. River runs clear. No cell service. Plenty of firewood. Shelter with kitchen area and two slightly dirty pit toilets

Report Check-In

The gravel road in is in great condition, and it’s not steep. It’s about half a mile long (0.8 km). A road that forks off the main road, to the right, leads to a large private campsite that’s suitable for big rigs (class A, but maybe not a fifth wheel). Another big rig site is roadside on the left a little farther down. Past that it may be difficult for big rigs to turn around using the tight loops (one loop just before the main campground, another at the end). Nice place. Level areas. Low branches at some sites. You can walk to the riverbank. The free firewood logs are so big they’re hard to move. A hatchet would be helpful for fire starting.

Mosquito free, good open spot for Starlink hook up. Easy in easy out. Light traffic noise , no BFD.

Report Check-In

Nice spot. We have big rigs so we parked close to the entrance where there is a large flat area.

Report Check-In

Really pretty spot next to Yukon River. Selkirk Nation land. Some shaded spot nearer to river. Excellent Starlink site maybe 150 feet back. Very faint highway noise dies down at night.

Report Check-In

North side of the bridge. Seems to be a paddler camp for those paddling down the Yukon. Some tree branches hang over road on the way in. Not a problem in our cabover camper. No cell service. Bugs were light.

Report Check-In

Great and quiet spot.
GPS coordinates are a little off. You need to go pass the bridge and turn left... As said a narrow gravel road to the end and several open spots to park. Firepits and plenty of wood

Report Check-In

Pulled in 10:00 p.m. and went about a quarter mile where there is a large flap graveled pull out area. drove around the corner and there is an established fishing camp on the river with signage from the government. Very quiet. Heard one person leave in the morning.

Should rename location as “Tatchun/Yukon River boat launch”. Regardless, what a great spot. Turn off onto an unmarked access road is immediately after crossing the Tatchun River bridge. There was an elaborate fishing weir set up just a few meters upstream of the confluence of the Tatchun/Yukon Rivers. The First Nations guardian popped by at around 9 pm to advise that a grizzly is frequently in the area in the mornings. Appears to be public property given Fed Canada fisheries placard, gravel parking and the boat launch onto the Yukon.

Report Check-In

Good spot, description ok. But during hunting or fishing you must expect fond people because many installations there

Report Check-In

Good spot….
Big rigs stop at the large clearing towards the end of the narrow track.
It would be ok for smaller vehicles to go 200 yards more.

We stayed here for one night, together with another car. A lot of place, no problem at all. Beautiful view on the Yukon. Some of the mentioned houses are really old and rotten. Fun to explore. But two buildings look if there are still or again (?!) in use. Probably locals, so please respect their work.

Report Check-In

looks like a fishing spot for the locals so might be busier on weekends... very quiet and beautiful view of the Yukon River

Report Check-In

Easy access for a 2WD on a dirt road. Huge flat area in the woods with man made fire pits.
It’s far enough from the highway that you can’t hear the road noise. No cell service.

Report Check-In

Nice spot, but by far the worst mosquitos we've had in the whole Yukon so far. Don't stay here in summer unless you can stay behind good nets inside your truck!

Report Check-In

Good place to spend 1 night. It was raining so not the best conditions. A few other people stayed there as well. Outhouse is usable and very clean.

Report Check-In

Great lil spot off the highway. Lots of space for several campers. Flat, pit toilets and no cell service

Report Check-In

Lot of flat space and shadow. No real view on the river, not the nicest spot In Yukon but good place to stay in the forest.

comme décrit auparavant ça ressemble à un ancien site pr pêcheurs, on pourrait y descendre une chaloupe. Nous y sommes allés avec notre VR de 28 ' sans difficultés. Tranquille, on entend un peu de bruit de la route #2

Nice location, we stayed here in a converted Safari Van. Very few mosquitoes (more flies), beautiful view and shadow so we didn't get cooked early in the morning in our car ;-) great spot!

Report Check-In

As previously mentioned, there are a lot of odd structures around. Some little abandoned one room cabins. Seems safe enough, not sketchy, just a little odd. It seems mostly meant as a parking area for a small boat ramp to the Yukon river. Sounds like there is a pretty sweet salmon run in the August / September time frame in the stream that borders the south side of the camp area. Fishing is prohibited during that time, but the run might be neat. One other couple was camping in a van. Lots of room even for our big Unimog. The trees are little tight on the side of the road and they brushed off one of our reflectors on the way in, but we’re pretty big and didn’t mind. Have superglue, will travel.

Report Check-In

Easy accessible, great place, for big and small.

Report Check-In

nice place. looks for me more like an summer camp. there are some strange structures.....
The place itself has what I think more tent sites then sites for RV. So I stayed overnight at the parking place for this sites. At the day you can hear the traffic from the road a little bit, but in the night it's very quiet.

Report Check-In

Really nice spot very close to the river. Looks like it might be a seasonal fish camp for locals. Good gravel road coming back, but tight with bushes/trees both sides. Made it back with a truck camper but it was close. Turnoff is an unmarked left immediately after you cross the bridge heading northbound. Drive back about a 1/4 mile to find the spots. Small turnaround at the end. Access best for van campers or pickup campers. Maybe smaller trailers.

Report Check-In

Take a left after the Tatchun Creek Bridge at #2North(to the right comes Tatchun Creek Territory Campground) and follow the gravel road to the end at the Yukon River, there are lots of opportunities to camp, fire rings, pit toilets, boat launch

Report Check-In

Cool place in the woods at the river. pit toilets are hidden in the forest. some fire pits. seems to be anglers paradise.

Report Check-In

Really great place with a beautiful View on the river. Firepit. Places to put the food on the top.
Something like 5 or 6 places.
