Description

Also, if you cross the river and drive up a little ways there's even a better spot with bathrooms and sinks. Families come hang out here during the day, might be busy on weekends, but other than that pretty quiet. Only discovered there was this spot the next morning.

Went here to camp and the store owner says they charge 20k per night. We asked about it being free city parking and he said no, it's private property. We went elsewhere for the night, but it does seem like a decent place with the rivers nearby to hang out in. Definitely more quiet then the actual balenario at the end of the road.

Personally I find this place a bit more quiet than the other one. Also, I think that all week there are visitors going in and out. Both spots have signs that prohibit nightly activity but staying overnight was no problem, it was really calm. Lots of shade. Almost no Claro reception.

Cross the low water, turn and head up the concrete road. You will arrive at part two of the city swimming area. Facilities as mentioned. The house is a restaurant, bar, tienda but the parking area is owned by the city so it is FREE. (Buy something from the store) We had one quiet night, but for some barking dogs. We chose to leave before the weekend masses arrived. Clear flowing water. Bathrooms. Dish sink. Recycling. A few spots to get level, some with shade.

Nice place! Shaded and leved areas do park, river to swim, tables and benches, sink, toilet and some places for barbecue. To get to this point you have to cross a small river, no need for 4wd or high clearance. On weekend It can get quite crowded but on a monday we had the place to ourselves. There is also a small bar, beer for 2000cop. Very nice and Free!

Definitely worth driving across the river (no 4x4 needed unless water levels really high) as there's a great swimming hole, proper toilets, basins, etc. It's 5k for parking but he wouldn't let us pay to park overnight :)
