We drove down a lane near the turning for Bektauata (other side of the road, further along on the way to Balkhash). Keep driving along this track. No water, no resources, but a quiet area well away from the road.

Nice quiet spot, very few insects. Can hide behind hills near quarry. Not exactly where iOverlander coords are but hills are pretty obvious from the road. It's about 13km south from the junction to Bektauata
