wonderful place. oscar, the owner, is very helpful and besides guide. he knows a lot about all the thing to see around.
we could take a hot shower in one of the rooms. payed 30 S for 2 adults and 2 children for one night.
oscar even has beer and wine in his bodega.

Great place, quiet and Oscar is a very kind and helpful person. As he used to work as guide, he knows a lot about the ruins around.
Wonderful garden and nice hot showers. Highly recommended!

Very nice place with clean and comfy bathroom. The owners are also very kind and welcoming. 15 s/ pp.

Great place! Family asked s/30 to camp (1 person), with free access to a nice bathroom with HOT (boiling!) shower. It started to rain as I set up my tent, and the mom let me use the room instead! ("Because it's Christmas")

s/15 for a delicious two-course dinner, and s/15 for a hearty breakfast with coffee and fresh juice.

Upon arrival with no reservation, the gate was closed but not locked. Yelled, then honked, but no response. Opened the gate and slowly walked inside, yelling 'hola' along the way. Was met by the nice daughter, followed by the mother, and apologized for walking in but they said no problem at all.

Very nice spot for camping. Flat grassy parking area. Directly off the street, but hardly any traffic at night. The owner opened a room for us to use the bathroom an hot shower. Best contact the owner before you show up. They are not always there...

This is a safe, clean, quiet spot. Good bathroom, hot shower, grassy area for parking and electricity. We stayed two nights while visiting the nearby Kuelap ruins. Very nice people own this spot! Unfortunately, the overlander who stayed just before us left without paying. Shame on you. That is how we all get a bad reputation.

Updating the info bellow:This is still the most wonderful place to stay in the area. We called their son in the mobile given bellow as we were leaving Kuelap and we were welcomed by his parents.

Wonderful Place, friendly owners, All as described. Definitely the best place in the area, best in days of travel, don’t miss it.
Easy to miss though since sometimes the gate is closed and they don’t hear, or they are not in. Best to confirm beforehand:

We had the pleasure of staying at El Chillo for 8 days due to waiting for a new rear tyre for our motorbike. Oscar and Ada immediately came to our rescue when our tyre blew 3 km out on our way to Chillo. During our time there they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and assisted us no end in getting a replacement tyre sent up from Lima. We camped and they opened up an unused room for us to charge things, use the toilet and have a shower. We caught the "Collectivo" from out the front which cost 7 soles and took about an hour into Chachapoyas to the Bus Terminal from there we caught any bus we needed to various attractions. We camped on a cleared area and while there was some traffic on the road out the front it wasnt annoying. The area is quiet, the people are wonderful and we had a great time staying there and exploring the nearby areas

Brilliant place and convenient location to visit Kuelap and Revash. Renaldo made us very welcome, paid 30S per night, 50S for 2 meals and 40S for 8kg+ of laundry (best wash so far).

This place may be a hit and miss. We arrived at the Estancia, called and honk hoping someone will come out to open the gates but nobody seemed to at the property at the time. :(

Open! Both gates were shut and locked but we honked our horn and shouted a couple of times and eventually someone came out. Super friendly owners (their son does maintenance on the gondola to the ruins!) We paid S15/person. Muy tranquilo.

Stopped by intending to camp but no one was there and both gates were locked. Still looks in good condition not abandoned or anything. Perhaps we were just unlucky with our timing

Good spot, very friendly owner.
Camping with hot shower and toilet @30 sol for 2 adults and 4 kids. Very quite at night with sound of the river...

Hy, I linke this rustical Estancia. very quid and save. The orner make dinner only for us. Rooms a little bit expensiv 100 Sol. Camping was free but I need nothing. I think with shower 20 Sol.

Peaceful place. Big rig friendly. They opened up a unused hotel room, where we could use the bathroom. 30S.

An historic hacienda, now a rustic but beautiful lodge. Very nice garden, camping in the grassy parking area off the street, safe and quiet. No internet, nice bathroom with very hot showers. They did not have a fixed price for camping, I suggested and paid 20 soles as the place is quite nice. Koepcke's Screech Owl in the garden and Neotropical River Otter in the river.
