Thanks to Covid, I had to fly home in March 2020 and therefore I was forced to leave my car in Lima. Fortunately I had found a place (Refugio Lima, it is also in Ioverland), where the car was safe.
From Home I tried to find someone who could ship the car for me to Europe and eventually I was in contact with a german shipping company, who workes together with Mr. Eduardo Bueno from Uniex shipping.
Eduardo is a very helpful and very kind person, who also speaks english and really tries to help you out. Whenever you have question to him, he replies immediately and keeps you informed about the single steps of the shipping process. He organized everything at the port and also the transport of the car to the port. In our case, everything went as smooth as possible.
When shipping your car it is absolutely crucial that you can trust in someone and after working togehter with Eduardo and Uniex Shipping, I can really recommand them, they do a fantastic job!

Simply put, UNIEX General Manager Eduardo Bueno, was an absolute life saver for us. During the 2020 pandemic we were forced to leave our trusty Toyota 4Runner behind in Lima. Eduardo handled all logistics and procedures with grace under extraordinarily challenging circumstances. I found him to be extremely professional, communicative and proactive. Just general information about shipping from Callao-Peru either RORO or Container, which is helpful before you decide to use this option.
RORO: There is a possibility with WWL to load your vehicle once a month ( not always that frequent ) with a change in Panama all over the world. WWL supplies a list of agents in Peru which supposingly have to book the passage for you. The big problem: nobody of these agents is interested in a used vehicle because under Customs Standard it's a " household good". So you have to find a customs agent who is willing to do that for you. The price for the transport has the normal price range but the costs in the port will roundabout double that figure because the car has to go in a warehouse first, before it's allowed onto harbour grounds.
CONTAINER: Frequently services along the Pacific Coast up and down. Transport not much more than RORO, but costs because of loading and handling in Callao even higher than the already expensive RORO load.
SUMMARY: With experience all over the world in loading our vehicle, just do it if it's really necessary because the customs can take you to the cleaners including drugs and document check which you all pay extra afterwards and you haven't got any control over it. Normal costs of about 2500 Euros for a LR Defender incl. port are doubling quickly to 5000€ like this. So check before you load your car or vehicle in Callao.

We shipped our car (20 ft container) from Lima to Rotterdam end of june 2016 using this company. Maybe not the cheapest you can find, but absolutely very reliable, is clear about the procedure and offers good service. Eduardo Bueno (manager) accompanies you with every step to take and has great knowledge about all procedures, knows lot's of people and saves you a lot of hassle when working with Peruvian (port) authorities.
