Enjoyed a 2 night stay as the only guests, so very quiet. Lovely setting right on the lake shore. Very nice friendly owners (SA) and staff. No power or water on camp site but available elsewhere. Wonderful camp site views of the lake, passing fishing boats, villagers and their animals. Bar and restaurant good. Swimming pool with fab views. No lake swimming though - hippos and crocs, but none seen.

Beautiful place right by the lake. The pool invites you to swim lengths. 3-axle-Camper compatible. Paul and Stacy take great care of their guests.

beautiful grassy campsites overlooking Lake malawi. hot water, scullery, braai area, pool, bar, restaurant

Exiting campsite flooded. The owner is super accomodating and helpfull and set us up next to a chalet with super green grass for use of facilities... Restaurant, pool, and bar are fun and clean.

Lovely owners who are very helpful and accommodating. Definitely the best campsite in the area. Restaurant and bar, swimming pool, grassy stands, enough shade, braai area, childrens play area, water in the showers are heated by donkey boiler at night, clean and neat. Recommended

Friendly and welcoming. If coming from Lilongwe, where google maps says turn left to the beach, don’t. Keep going for about 2km and you will see a big wooden sign to turn left to the beach. Follow the track and you arrive. The road does exist.
Camping area has green grass under trees near the beach. Lovely pool.

Very relaxing and harmonic place with shade, monkeys, palm trees, bar. We stayed for 2 days and walked along the beach and through the neighbouring villages.
Ablutions were very satisfying when we were there. The pool was well taken care of. The restaurant only offered a limited selection of foods, interestingly they were out of fish...
Quiet at night, only the sound of the waves.
Camping is 10000 MKW ppn. Beer at the bar is 1500 MKW.
Our favorite of the campsites we visited along Lake Malawi.

Beautiful and relaxed place right on the Lake. A must do is a visit of the village and school with Dixon, really impressive. Ablutions are not very clean but doable. Restaurant, bar and swimming pool are available.

We had a total different impression. The lodge is still in renovation, all is chaotic. The campground is not really nice, the grass is burnt and not maintained. Ofc the pic with pool is nice and we thought also, we have to go there, but we were dissappointed. They want now 10.000 kw pppn and we didn‘t want to pay that for that place, so we tried to negotiate. But no chance, even in Corona times. So we left.

now kingfisher In, lovely spot for camping in the beach on sand and grass, renovation has it looking spectacular, great food best in Malawi with special chef who now lives here, and nice owners. great pool and food, but drawback is that swimming is risky being close to Shire river entry. but i recommend highly

Under new management! Now called Kingfisher Inn. Lots of upgrades done thus far with stunning pool, bar and restaurant. Campsite with great lake view, ablutions newly upgraded (only cold showers...for now) and big rig friendly.

Place is rather run down. Have stayed at other “old” places were at least facilities are clean. There were maggots in ladies basin and generally dirty ablutions. Campsite is just a path of sand next to lake. Cars for Casino park in campsite and uses trees as ablution. If you have no option it is okay but if you have time move further up the lake

Lovely place, camping right on the beach. Beach quite dirty outside the lodge, but still beautiful views and quite picturesque. Ablutions basic but good enough. I didn’t have hot water. No WiFi unfortunately. 2km from the main road, well signposted. Enough shade. 5000 Kw pppn.

At the time of writing, they were building an infinity swimming pool, will be nice when ready.

Nice terrace, bar and restaurant. Owner was a little indifferent, she could be friendlier or more interested I thought. They have some kind of small casino with slots etc. which is kind of weird. Still a good place for a night or 2.

Nice camping directly on the beach. A lot of local people doing their laundry and dishes there also a lot of children hangig around. But they were all friendly and were not begging.
Price is still 5000 pppn. Friendly owner and good restaurant but the ablutions could need some maintenance. Almost no light and doors don't close and toilets were not really clean.
All in all it is a nice place to stay for one or two nights.

Really hot shower. Restaurant serves fresh fish. Chambo seems to live in Lake Malawi only. Laundry service.
