This was a really interesting tour and our English speaking guide was friendly and informative. The gem formations in the mines and the process of mining itself was fascinating. Well worth the 1,000 per person entry fee.

Entrance fee for the Mina Tierra Colorada is Arg$ 800/person and maybe a tip for the guide if you wish.
Yes, it's touristy, but still interesting.
We had an english speaking guide for us and she explained a lot to us about how the stones were made millions of years ago, how they are excavated and a lot of other things.

Rosmarie&Peter
Excellent guide for a short tour.
Absolutely amazing experience to visit a gem stone mine. And the whole process is visible. A miracle of nature!
Be aware: 1st shop where they want you to buy is not related to the mine shop!

800 entrance pp. A guide (english) gave us a super nice tour (open for tips at the end). We were surprised how nice this place was. Really worth the visit

Nice place to visit, the people on the street sell some gems in a very low price. 500pp, dont expect too much, but you have some knowledge.

The entrance price is now 500 ARS. Guides in different languages available (Spanish, English, French, Italian, Portuguese, …), but for an English speaking guide we had to wait for 25 minutes … there is only one available. Guides are included in the entrance ticket, but the guides mention a tip. Although at the end of our tour, our guide didn’t push … he walked away, we had to call him for his tip. His English speaking was not really strong. We stayed overnight on the parking lot 2 nights.

Didn’t enter. Price now 100 pesos per person and the tour guide makes it obvious they expect a tip too. Can’t do the mines without a guide it seems

We asked if it was possible to sleep in the quiet and isolate parking of the mines with our camper... and it was ! (We wanted to visit the next morning...)
