Description

*Overnight parking/camping is NOT available at this location.

There are signs that you need permission for camping. But the ranger said it is allowed and he recommended this beautiful place. Great view with sunset.
At the gate, 200m before turn left. The last part is not possible with big vehicles, but there are other nice spots in the forest.

Report Check-In

Bad road but we got through with our van. No 4x4 required. Had a spot with a fire pit and a nice view. Little Snakes around

Report Check-In

the road is very rough pretty nice view. do not drive past the outhouses at the bottom of the hill without high clearance, and 4WD is probably required wet or in bad weather.

This spot does have a nice view but it is not level. After some effort I got my truck to an acceptable spot for the night.

If the road coming in is muddy I would skip this spot. The view wouldn’t be worth the car wash for me

Report Check-In

The road was super rough! I drive a Subaru Forester and couldn’t make it more than a minute in. However, there was a pull off towards the begging and I had no problem parking there!

Report Check-In

sweet and quiet! last meters hard but it's worth it!

Report Check-In

800 meters / .5 mile before you reach this overlander point, you pass a so called dispersed spot with pitt toilets and bear proof garbage boxes. Enough level space to park there. Quiet and cold. On our way up we indeed saw a black bear. Happy us.

Report Check-In

camped at the start of the 542 road. a bit rocky for low clearance vehicles, but a decent spot otherwise

Report Check-In

Not bad considering it is free and there is nothing better within 30 miles. The site is relatively secluded but is visited regularly by staff going up the hill to work at the tower. However, it is very noisy especially at night from some kind of heavy equipment or engine that runs constantly from the tower above.
