Description

Enter at the gate that says Rinconada. Check in at the yellow building on your right. If there's no one there, let yourself in the gate. It lifts up (hold the cord). Keep right and park along the river by the arches. They will come to find you to pay. Restaurant not generally open in winter. (A find from the Church's book.) Not wanting to be stuck at the Copper Canyon THE park or the hotel in Culiacan we headed to what is basically a big water park and summer resort (pretty much empty in the winter) on a lake. There are casitas to rent and multiple pools, restaurants, ball court and party pavilions in addition to the water park things. 500 pesos in early 2023 for basically just a grassy spot by the (non-functioning) bathrooms overlooking the river. Had the place to ourselves. Birding paradise with big iguanas when it's warm. Great kayak spot.

Latest Check-Ins

The good: it's still open and has a river with good birdwatching and there is water in the campsites

The bad: Physically decrepit buildings with horrid bathrooms. No water to flush toilets - use your imagination. Looks like they gave up on this place years ago and are just milking it for whatever they can get.

The really bad: $500MX per night.

Report Check-In

The bathrooms were non-functional - no water.

Report Check-In

No water in the bathrooms. Water available from a spigot along the road where we parked.

500 pesos per rig. Quiet mid week in the winter, great birds and iguanas. No hookups. A water spigot and basic bathrooms.

Report Check-In

Lovely spot on a river and lake. We're the only ones here. 300 pesos includes bathroom. No tables or hookups. Great birds.

Report Check-In

$300 pesos/night. Beautiful spot although it’s seen better days. Non-potable water hookup. No electricity. No wifi.

Don’t stay here unless you like music blasted at you ALL night at painful levels (seriously, I know Mexicans like their music loud but this was insane!!) Asked for refund the next morning as we were not able to sleep at all... they only gave us half of it back. Don’t stay here. Did see a vermillion flycatcher in the morning which was somewhat redeeming.

We drove out of Culiacan to locate this place on the hopes that they were still serving RVs (after being told no at Tres Rios). Arrived at closing time but they were happy to receive us. $300 pesos a night, no hookups, cold showers, bathrooms, lawns and gardens and swimming pools. Oh, and a river for the dog to swim in.
It felt strange to park in the road, but that's where they put us. Beats a Pemex station chaos for the night. BTW- tried calling ahead and no answer.
Upon departure we asked for water and were granted a tank fill with potable, filtered water. Don't push it, but it's there.

A find from the Church's book. Not wanting to be stuck at the copper canyon rv park or the hotel in Culican we headed to what is basically a big water park and summer resort. Siting lakeside, there are casitas to rent and multiple pools, restaurants, ball court and party pavilions in addition to the water park things. We paid 300 for basically just a grassy spot by the bathrooms overlooking the water and had the place to ourselves.
