The road which has been flooded by the hydro scheme offers a fairly quiet place near Del Rio. There is a large, slightly sloping gravel area next to the closed road just outside the park area. Pit toilet is still available but no other facilities. Park rangers and police visit the area but did not approach us. Faint noise from the highway. T-Mobile service.

Quiet, stayed one night and wasn't bothered. Came at sunset and left early. Bathroom beyond the gate was open. One other van stayed the night as well. Keep it clean/quiet so they don't prohibit overnight in this area bc it's a great spot.
Report Check-InAt the end of the road just before the Amistad gate. Very quiet at night. We came for the eclipse. Many visitors on the 8 of April. The dry toilet was opened. Picnic tables with roof. Metal garbage boxes are available in the park. We stayed 2 nights.
Au bout de la route avant la barrière du parc Amistad. Très tranquille la nuit. On est venu pour l'éclipse. Beaucoup de visiteurs le 8 avril. La toilette sèche était ouverte avec papiers de toilette... Tables de picnic avec toit. Poubelles en métal disponible dans le parc. On est resté 2 nuits.
Decent place for the night if you've just crossed the border or plan to cross. There is a pull out on the right side when coming in just before the gate, little more private and flat!
