great place! We lost our cover for our water inlet (White with a lock). it was on the carpark at the water tab. If you find it, it would be great if you contact me in Instagram: nexttripahead
thank you in advance

Nice area but, I had tornado warnings and the hail was big and the wind really picked up and I moved close to the bathrooms if I needed to ditch in there, yet.

stayed 2 nights. potable water is at the 1st turnoff on the upper campground. locals very nice camping with family. I felt very safe, no problems!

Good spot. Quiet. Potable water. Nice trail to walk through the grassland. Many birds. Bull frogs.
We didn't stay where the GPS point is. When you take the first left once you get to the campground (instead of driving down to the lake) you find good parking. Tables. Wind sheltered spots.

Loved our stay here! Really peaceful and pleasant. There are two sets of toilets, numerous fire pits with picnic tables and various spots to choose from whether you like to stay within the trees, beside the water, or in open land. We felt really safe here, would stay again.

Report Check-In

Stayed two nights here, in the lower campground. Road noise is the only issue, otherwise dark and peaceful. Saw some deer and snakes and turkeys near camp. Upper campground had some rvs with generators running, and was parked illegally by the lake. Law enforcement made them move.

All by ourselves! Toilets are clean but maybe bring your own TP as that was sparse. Parking is above and away from fire pit (we don't typically have fire) and tables but great view of lake. Saw a trail to hike in morning.

Very nice place. Enjoyed staying here for two nights. Very clean and well maintained. Nice place to catch the sunset and chill.

This is a very well maintained recreational area around a lake. There wasn't anybody except park rangers on a week day. We really enjoyed it. The only downside is that vehicles are not allowed on the grass by the trees, which means parking in the sun. Nighttime temperatures were very pleasant though and we had a nice swim in the lake.

Visited again last weekend. Water is only available at the lower campground now. The frost proof up by the lake is gone. Lower campground is really nice with lots of fire pits and grills including a huge grill. Would be really good for a large group.
