Description

Juan Carlos his Mia hostel is not completly up and running yet but he already loves the receive travellers. We stayed 3 nights and had a great time sharing lunch, dinner, beers and wine.

there is deffitly place for a couple of motorbikes to park inside, we parked our van in front of the hostel in the street. Juan Carlos offered us a room in his hostel ( for free!) but we dont like to leave out van alone at night so we slept in our van. So Juan Carlos gave us key so we could enter when we wanted to use the facilities. The street though, is quite noisy and busy for sleeping.

we invited another overlanding ( motorbike) friend and he stayed in on of the rooms without paying anything!

could be Juan Carlos starts charging somthing once the hostel is up and running but anyway its a great spot!

Latest Check-Ins

As described, super nice hostel and good vibe with Juan Carlos who is an amazing host. He cares to make you feel at home, sharing beers, bbq and anecdotes with all the guests. Perfect spot for cyclists, enough space to store your stuff safely while you go for a trek. He can give you advices on transportation and on the region and he is planning on developing the hostal. I could only recommend this place ! 25s/p

A hostal with homey vibe. Its already operating since 8 months ago. For some reason there is no Mia Hostal sign outside, but you can see Daniel Villar written on the wall. The owner, Juan is a super host who genuinely care for all his guests. Hence why you feel this place is like home & the guests are like one big family. This hostal can accommodate 12 people. The fee is S25 per person. There is a kitchen to cook & a tea/coffee station (FOC). Motorbikes & bicycles can park inside the hostal. Perfect location, very near to Plaza de Armas. Juan who speaks Spanish, English & French can also help to find transport to visit the lagunas. TQ Juan for the hospitality. If I return to Caraz, I will definitely stay here again.
