P200pppn (RSA). Stayed 3 nights prior CKGR visit.
Lovely campsites, relatively private and shaded with power outlet.
More than adequate ablutions, well worth a visit.

We Check in with 1 Car, 2 Person
We come from khalhari

Report Check-In

Great place to see the zebra and wildebeest migration.

Report Check-In

If you are south african is 200 ppn (15$) if you are european is 20$ pppn.

We thought was very expensive, the campsite was empty, we told her for a reduced price not using pool and ablutions (we are selfsuficient). She said no! We didn’t stay there.

We do not think it is a good idea separete prices for different nationalities and we do not know whats the future for these kind of places… with prices up and up and empty spaces…

Report Check-In

9 campsites, challets and pitched tents available.

Clean ablutions with hot showers and WC. Clean blue Pool, sundec overlooking a waterhole in the Boteti river.

Shade, water, firepit & and electricity at each campsite. Very friendly staff. ,

Across the Boteti River😆🐫🥨 is the West entrance to the Makgadigadi NP.

Camping P200 pppn. Wood, some drinks for sale at Restaurant.

Report Check-In

Paradise on the edge of the Magadigadi. Swimming pool, luxurious veiwing deck, bar, restaurant and amazing staff.

Report Check-In

362pp pn .. way overpriced I think as NP charges ridiculously too these guys are cashing on that. River was a trickle only nothing worth the price but options were limited. Drifters camp was 150pp pn and way much better option

Report Check-In

Nice flat campsites with shade, water, and electrical plugin. Lovely pool area! Very clean, nice ablutions. Their restaurant is expensive restaurant ($20pp) so we cooked for ourselves. They have a big, comfortable sitting area above the restaurant overlooking river (though the river was dry when we were there). Wi-Fi is slow/unreliable and works near the restaurant only but Orange cell service was great. This campsite is right next to the ferry across the river to Makgadikgadi NP. (In dry season you can drive across the river bed.)

Report Check-In

The campsite was fully occupied but they let me stay at the back next to a tented bungalow. I could use the ablution of that bungalow and had a warm shower on the next late morning. Price was 200 Pula as mentioned before. I could see the hippos from the upper deck. One of the staff members walked with me to the river to have a better view. I saw lots of hippos, big crocodiles and some zebra. Can’t complain at all. This isn’t a fancy place but a good stop over before your drive to the central kalahari or coming out of it. It’s also perfect if you want to enter the Magkadigkadi NP. The gate is directly next to it and they run the ferry across the river. 75 pula if you stay at the camp, regular price is 150 pula. I could use the Wifi as well (only available at the bar). It was very slow but they mentioned that.

Overall I liked this place.

Report Check-In

Had a great experience here. After a week in the Kalahari having comforts as nice hot showers, dinner and bar were greatly appreciated. Still cheaper than camping in the park on the other side of the river, even if you enter the park, as the park charges for 2 days if you spend 1 night (NOT per 24h).
Dinner was good, but indeed very pricey (308P pp).
From the viewing platform you can see the river with a lot of hippos in the area. We walked down to the river for a close look of the 30 hippos (on the other side of the fence) and we felt safe being amongst some cows, goats and small houses. Later they told us this is something they don't recommend their guests doing as in the evening some elephants roam that area to get to the river. There also was a sandy track along the river which you might be able to use for a little private safari on that side of the river if you find where it starts.
They did give out the WiFi password and it was working at night, but for us using the 4g directly was certainly faster and more efficient. In the morning however the whole village had no power, thus no 4g, no wifi, no lights and no paying by credit card - some clients ended up stuck waiting for the power to come back.

Report Check-In

Nice campsite along the Boteti River. Sites are spacious, have electricity and water and lots of shades from the trees. The deck overlooking the river is very nice and the discount on the ferry to the NP is a big plus. We were a bit disappointed by the very commercial vibe here. Price is relatively high (200 pula p.p non negotiable) and wifi is only available for the staff. We had dinner there, which was 305 pula p.p. for an ok meal. 50 pula for the house wine seemed excessive. There was no water pressure at the abblution block and no hot water when we were there. Could be due to the temporary power outtage, but the staff didn't seem surprised that there was no hot water in the evening or the next morning.

Report Check-In

This campsite is teally overpriced (200 ppn) even if you receive an discount for the ferry. The Campsites are big, but without any view. From the deck you could see a part of the river with a lot of fences but no animals. We waked up at 5:30 am from the music in the village.

Report Check-In

All the positive comments below are true, the negative ones are quite exagerated. For instance, chilling terrasse does overview the river (not the wildlife area though). Good deal with the 50% at the pontoon for guests. Very good shower. Good 4G Mascom coverage.

Report Check-In

Really nice. may seem expensive but worth it with the 50% discount for the barge to cross the river to visit the park. All positive comments below are true, negative ones are really exagerated. For instance the bar deck do

Report Check-In

Really nice place, but price is up to P200 per person.

Report Check-In

no for big rigs, tree branches at entrance gate are below 3m, not possible to enter

Report Check-In

We enjoyed our stay at this campsite - large sites with braai, tap, shade area and electricity.
The lounge and bar area are amazing - we loved the upstairs section overlooking the river.
Lovely well maintained pool.
Friendly and helpful staff.
If you stay at the camp the price of the ferry is 75 Pula each way.
The only negative was the music from the local village.

Report Check-In

Just an update on the rate, we didn’t camped there this time, only used the ferry over Boteti River.
Camping is now 130 Pula p.P.
Ferry is 150 Pula

Report Check-In

This is an awesome place. We had it all for ourselves. Very tranquil. Friendly staff.

Report Check-In

Camp on sand, the sunshine roof are ripped, big ablution could cleaner, dish and washing area basic, bar and restaurant are nice, the buffet for 6 people, when we are there, are not enough to go round and there is no windbreak at rain. From the top you didn't see the river.
The staff are unfriendly and desinterested. For what the offert the price is to high.

Report Check-In

Camp was very clean, big campingsides with shadow roofs and free electricity on each side. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Lot of trees and flowers in whole camp. Clean and comfortable absolution. Beautiful pool.
Cons: Loud music from the neighbour village.

As described below we expected not much. When we entered we were well surprised. 20 USD ppn. A good alternative to the SKL camp, which is more expensive. We can recommend it.

Report Check-In

As described below. Standard facilities, nothing special. Very overpriced, but we stayed one night, as there was no cheaper alternatives close by and we wanted to visit the park.

Price has gone up to 27 US$ pppn and 20 US$ for kids over 2 years. We wanted to pay in US$ due to the exchange rate, but it seems that the staff do not really want dollars. Only brand new bills is accepted (they were VERY picky). Place is owned by a South African and a German and that is where the money end up...

We did not feel welcome at all. Not a place that we will visit again or recommend.

Report Check-In

As described below. Priced in US$ if you pay by card they change to Pula then add 3.5%.

No WiFi only for staff

Over priced for what is provided.

Report Check-In

It the meantime the camp has another owner and it’s called „Boteti River Camp“. USD 25.-/P. and night. They‘re belonging to the sklcamps.
Power and water on each spot.
Good facilities and a great balcony with river view. With luck you can see some animals there.
No Wifi available.

Report Check-In

We needed to pay 50 usd for camping for 2 people. They charge 25 usd per person per night right now. Way too much for what they offer!

Report Check-In

Now $US25/pppn in own car. Too high, didn’t stay

Report Check-In

Price is now P135 for camping. Great spot.

Report Check-In

camp is close to the village and you will hear locals' music and donkeys instead of wild animals. P150 one way to use the ferry to get into the park which is a total rip off. camping is P125 + P10 bed levy pppn. owner us helpful rest of staff are miserable.

Report Check-In

nice clean pool, German owner, spacious shower with great pressure, shadow and power on every site, really worth a 5* rating and the money. 125 Pula p.p.
WiFi 3 hours daily 17-20 cost extra 10 Pula p.hour.

Report Check-In

Adding little notes : Camping 125 Pula pppn. Wifi available in the restaurant; They told us we can use between 5-8 pm and each device has to pay 10 pula.

Report Check-In

Owner rather rude- we had agreed a price of 110 pppn with one of the staff when we arrived but when we paid in the morning the owner wanted 125pp and made me feel very uncomfortable when I explained that wasn't what we had agreed
Also drinks are very expensive (23pula for a beer which had an 8pula sticker on it, and 15pula for a soft drink. Most expensive beer in Botswana)
Also if you stay, keep an eye out foe scorpions- we had one hiding under our tent

Report Check-In
